1. What would you want that person to bring you to eat for dinner? A meal from a restaurant or a home cooked meal?
2. Would you want them to bring you something for the 2.5 year old?

Depends on who it is, if its someone who is a good cook then I would want a home cooked meal. I dont have a 2.5 year old so I'm not sure, but I'm guessing they could just eat the same thing as me?

1. As long as it's edible, it doesn't matter where it's from. Bring enough for leftovers.
2. Art supplies are always appreciated.
Eta: I thought you meant a present for the toddler! At 2.5, s/he should be able to eat grown up food.

@Mrsbells: haha I can see how that would come across that way.

I'd rather home cooked, as long as the person was a good cook. I figure you can order take out/delivery any night. But I don't have a 2.5 yo.

I wouldn't care - take out is awesome, homecooked is awesome, too. Food that *I* don't have to prepare is a delight!
As for 2.5 year old...I would probably have something on hand for my toddler (if I had one that age) and wouldn't expect anything to be brought over for her.

I'm a fan of restaurant food. I appreciate it more
And yes I'd love if they brought food my Lo could eat (they'd have to ask what she likes in order to know though)

I love going out to eat, and miss getting to go places that aren't super toddler friendly (and for some reason we don't do a lot of takeout), so restaurant food would probably be my preference, especially from a place that I like that I can't take my kid (because it's too slow, or too quiet in ambiance, etc.).

I love a home cooked meal, especially since I'm not that good at cooking myself. Thank goodness DH can cook! And as far as something for the 2.5 year old, I would say it would be appropriate. After all, with a new baby getting all these things from people, maybe he/she is feeling a little left out.
Was thinking about this a week ago while getting stuff for Henry's first birthday party. My baby cousin (nearly 4) is coming and he's an only child. He's been the baby of the family for so long, he has a hard time sharing the limelight (it'll be interesting to see how he takes the birth of this next LO!). So I'm making him a little good bag since he'll be the only kid at the party. That way he doesn't feel left out and perhaps he won't act out.

I'd prefer a home cooked meal too! We ate out way too much when DS was born! The only thing I would be careful about is if she's breastfeeding. Try to be conscious of that and not bring something loaded with veggies that might give a baby gas!
And for the 2.5 year old...definitely art supplies, book to read or an age appropriate activity book.

@Honeybee: you're a genius.
something with leftovers! (maybe even the kind you can freeze)

I'm sure I'd appreciate anything that was brought o me. I'm not picky.
What about a book?
