This is so funny.
I remember when we had our 1st friends party for DS at age 4 - he wanted to invite the teacher and I thought what teacher would come to a students party??? So, I didn't invite her.
Fast fwd to my DD being 4 and every party I have been to her teacher was there - I was shocked - she said she gets invited to all the parties.
Anyway - we had a home party and did not invite her.
So I say you can do either

I would consider it if the teacher had a child the same age, but I would think it was strange to just invite the teacher.

I would if you were very friendly with the teacher and LO particularly liked her. DD1 talks about her two lead teachers ALL the time. The one is family so that's obviously an invite but if we were having a bigger party I would not feel weird inviting the other lead teacher.

I've never invited a teacher! After hanging out with these monsters 40 hours a week I can't imagine they'd like to do it during their off time, too!

As a teacher, I feel flattered but awkward when I get invited to kids birthday parties.
I don't want to go, but I don't want to offend the family. But, I don't want to go.

I personally won't, but I've seen several parties where our daycare director was invited to go and she was there. But she does have a toddler girl though so she can mingle like other moms.

We invite the teacher, only because her nephew and LOnare framed with our LO. If that wasn't the situation, we would t have invited her.
