We are done, done, done. But if in some parallel universe we were to have a third, it would probably be after Charlie and Olive are in school because of childcare costs. So Charlie would be 7, Olive would be 5, and then a 5 year gap with the baby. Not that that would ever, ever happen!

It would be great having kids 5 years apart, but I don't want to be pg when I'm 40...I'd much rather be done by then. If we could afford it, in an ideal world, all Irish twins-as close as possible.

We plan on having 4. LO is almost 11 months and I'm 17 weeks pregnant, so they will be 16 months apart. Then we plan to wait until LO #2 is two years old before we try for a third, then try for a fourth when that LO is a year old. So we would have four under six!

I would wait until Lowly was 5, just like with my oldest. Three only children (ha ha). But I'm pretty sure my husband is just waiting to schedule his vasectomy, so that would make us done. I'm with Mrs. Bee, conceiving in the parallel universe!

@Mrs. Bee: i feel pretty done after two, but we're still leaving the possibility open for 3 (mostly cuz of DH)... but our spacing would be similar to yours. if we have a 3rd, noelle would def have to be in kindergarten first bc we can't afford to put three in daycare, and i def do not want to be a sahm.

We're probably two and through, but I would imagine I'd want to wait until Lala was out of preschool. It would change our education plans, the way we have our home set up--- everything. At this point only a big oops or our birth mom could change things for us.

This is something that I have wondered myself! I want three and LO #2 is now one years old, so I feel like it is time to try again. I'm kind of hoping for two year difference between #2 and #3 (which is the difference between #1 and #2). I'm actually really worried no one will be happy for us though, that they will think it is too soon and we shouldn't have three....

Right now the plan is to have our second when Sadie is 2-3, and then adopt 3-5 years after that. I'd like Sadie to be in school & our second to be in preschool before adopting.

We talked about this at dinner tonight. We want one and two to be about two years apart but I don't want number three to come along until at least one is in the public school system. So 6, 4, and a newborn or 5, 3, and a newborn. I also want number or and two out of diapers

We're on #3 now and our first two are 26 months apart- too close together, IMO, for me and our situation anyways. Now Cricket will be 33 months younger than Tractor Girl and almost 5 years younger than Deere Boy and I think it will be ok, especially if Deere Boy goes to pre-K this fall. We'll have to see about having a 4th. I'm open to the possibility. If 3 is fairly smooth sailing, I can see us going for #4 around the time Cricket is 2. After all, I swore I'd be done changing diapers by the time I'm 30, so we'd better step it up a little here!

We're hoping for three kids and would ideally have them all within five years. DD is 9 months and we're just about to start TTC #2 next month (we're NTNP right now but with my cycle just returning a few weeks ago and being super wonky right now, I can't say we're actually trying just yet). Hopefully we have LO #2 before DD turns two, and then we'll probably wait 1.5 - 2 years before trying for a third.

LO is four months and were vaguely going ttc when he's one year. Then once that set is older wed like to foster to adopt. I stay at home but am concerned about the effect of kids potentially coming and going on our bio kids if they were too young to understand.

I found the first two months of motherhood to be very difficult emotionally speaking so I'm in no hurry to start try for #2!
Having said that I would consider going ntnp once Miss A is one (we're currently EBF so one is my minimum goal for breastfeeding) and I wouldn't want a third child until A is almost five or in school.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes for us to conceive our future children as it took twelve months to get Miss A.

We are probably done, but after having two 22 months apart, I'd definitely wait longer before having a third. Once everyone's potty trained and at least in preschool (and we win the lottery), then let's talk.

hmm well our 'plan' is 4 -- as well as one can plan these things, anyway!
we have a 10 month old LO right now, are pregnant with LO#2 (they will be 15 months apart), gonna try and wait around 1.5 years before trying again after LO#2, and then hopefully space #3 and #4 around 1 or 2 years apart from each other. My motto is, don't think TOO hard about it, keep my eye on the prize (having 4 adult children to hang out with/ take care of me, and lots of grandkids. hahaha!).
ETA: although we don't have a great income, we don't have to worry about ob and childbirth costs for each pregnancy -- if we lived in the states, i dont think we could as easily afford to just have them one after the other. government also gives us over 100$ a month for each kid until they are around 6 yrs old -- everyone gets it (it's supposedly for milk, diapers, etc.) we live in canada.

Planning to have the first two about 2 years apart, and the third maybe 3ish years later? Dh is happy with 2, but I'm pushing for a third since I love the baby stage and I know I'll miss it. Also when I have number 2 I'll only be 22/23 so I've still got a few years.

We're hoping for 2, but would consider three and want them about two years apart. We want our kids to attend Montessori school which they can from 3, so it feels like 4,2,nb wouldn't be too much of a difficulty to manage.

Asked DH last night and his response was comical & sweet. He said he doesn't want to turn me into a factory (awww lol) but if we had 4 kids he would rather not have more than 8 years between them. For him no more than 2 years apart. I agree. I would prefer them a little closer in age but right now well take whatever the good lord will give us. Amen!

Currently cooking our first so it's hard to imagine more right now. DH does want 3 though and I would like our children to be each about 2 years apart. I'm happy with two children though!

I'm not sure - I really want 4, DH only wants 2, so we decided to have 2 and if life is good go for 3rd and final.
I grew up in a family of 4 girls and had so much fun! My sisters and I are so close and I love having a big family. I want that for my kids! DH is thinking $$$ though and is my voice of reason!

I honestly hadn't even thought about how many we wanted (realistically) because it took us such a long time to get pg with this one. But last night we were talking, and hubs says that in an ideal world, we'd have 3 in 4 years. As in...pop this one our, get my cycle back, and try for #2. Then do it again.
Its a little nerve wracking, seeing as how #1 isn't even here yet!

We always planned on 3, spaced 2 years apart, but I think we're going to stop at the two we have right now. Our plan has always been to foster or possibly adopt in the future, but we're along way off from that; at least 3 or more years.

We plan to start TTC when LO is 1.5 or so...ideally LO#2 would be born when LO#1 is 2.5-3.5. LO #3 would ideally be born 2.5-3.5 years after LO#2.

I think about this kind of obsessively actually, and I do want three kids. I like the idea of three years apart for each of them the best. But I am also kind of obsessively worried about my age and don't want to have kids in my mid-thirties. SO, if all goes according to the perfect plan I have in my head (ha!), our kids will be 3 and 2.5 years apart.

If we have a 3rd, C would have to be going into kindergarten (in Ontario she will be 3, turning 4 that October) full time before we could have a third (assuming having #2 on timeline we want goes as planned) as more than two in daycare would be insane. So hoping for LO #2 Spring/Summer 2014, and then LO #3 could be no sooner than July onward 2016 (DH off for summer and C would go into Kindergarten that Sept!) I think it's sickening I have thought all of this out, ha!!

If we even try for another #2, we'll TTC this year for it. If for some reason we get crazy and we go for a #3, it would be close in age (under 2 years) to #2. But, I think we'd just be happy with a healthy #2 and not risk another one.

Still pregnant with number one, but our plan is to start trying for number two when this one is 2 1/2 or 3. We want to adopt out of foster care for #3, and plan to wait quite a while- maybe until the youngest is 10? And we'd be looking to adopt a toddler, not a baby, I think.
Sometimes I think we might go for a 3 rd bio child, but if we did it would probably be with at least another 2 1/2 yr gap.
Edit: pregnancy spacing is because I want to breast feed for at least 18 months and have some time with my body to myself. Also, not having to diaper 2 kids! We'd wait a while to foster because we have both worked peripherally in that field, and are aware of how challenging it can be. We'd want our bio kids to be old enough to manage that and understand it, and also to be able to communicate if something wasn't working for them.

There will be a decent age gap with ours, I think we'll go for three total. MAYBE two... But dh wants four so I think it'll have to be three.
J is 13 months now and I don't foresee us ttc #2 until he is at least three. After that I'd like at least two years between #2 and #3.

Who knows what will happen, but I picture 3 years in between each, and having 3 total. I'm pregnant now with our first, and I'll be 27 when I give birth, so I picture #2 at 30 and #3 at 33. I definitely want to be done by 35 at the latest.
