I just ignore it until I'm sure or I'll slip something in about my pregnancy and see if that brings it out!

No way. I wouldn't say it even if she looks 9 months pregnant. You just never know.

@artbee: Yeah, someone at work is pregnant but I didn't want to offend her if she just had her baby and it was just post-pregnancy weight. I didn't say anything but I wonder if it's more offensive for pregnant woman to be ignored.

Everything seems to offend someone these days, so I tend to err on the side of saying nothing.

Nope!! I'd just ignore her bump until she mentioned having a baby or something!

@bluestriped bee: That’s my main technique. I always get “feelings” about people and cannot rest until they’re confirmed (and I’m almost always right!) so I’ve found lots of creative ways to draw the news out haha. Or you can always watch to see if the bump grows lol.

Never! Its amazing though how many people asked me when I was JUST starting to show.

Nooo! I really wouldn't want to make that mistake. I've heard crazy stories talking to my friends about people who have mistaken them as pregnant when they clearly are not! Not even close to having a bloated bump.
I'll always smile at someone who is very pregnant and if it's someone I know then they'll usually talk about their pregnancy first.

never! my mom told me she once asked one of her friends if she was pregnant (and she did look it, i asked my mom if she was) and her friend wasn't! both of them were so embarrassed. i'd rather just feign ignorance and let her tell me.

I don't say anything until they bring it up. I've been asked before by a rude coworker and it was mortifying.

I'd wait until she announces. Better safe than sorry, I say.

I do the same thing, I bring up something concerning my baby, or pregnancy if the conversation allows and usually people are more than willing to offer up their information since people love to talk about themselves

I ignore it. My mom had a friend that looked like she was 7 months pregnant all the time, no matter how much she exercised or dieted. She hated people asking her if she was pregnant.

No way. The vet we saw a few weekends ago was pregnant but I didn't want to say anything. Finally she said something so I could mention it.

I've had three people at work this week ask me if I'm pregnant. I told a handful of people, but these were people who I don't interact with much, so I was a little surprised they were so blunt since I'm only 14.5 weeks and just now starting to show.
I never say anything unless I know they are pregnant. If I think they might be, I might try to talk about babies or something to get them to say something but unless I'm 100% sure, I wouldn't risk it.

well unless she's holding her belly or something to make it obvious.

I would never consider saying anything unless she brought it up or was standing there rubbing her belly or something.

I usually ignore it. However, one time I said something to a co-worker because of the type of shirt she was wearing (starting wearing empire waist/baby doll type shirts when she hadn't before) she denied it but then announced later that she was expecting. The timing means when I asked she was pregnant just not telling folks but I'll never do that again, I felt so embarrassed when she said no.

No way! I've suspected correctly several times but NEVER said anything until it was announced. Even though one of the women was visibly showing and well into her 2nd trimester before she announced it! I just kept my eyes up and pretended like I didn't see anything.

Ignore! No way would I risk a foot in mouth situation!
