I'm going to cheat and say two things! I want Olive to sleep through the night and take a bottle. I want Charlie to be a much better eater and not have any constipation problems!
What would you change right now? (You can have two too. ;))

i'd love it if c was less clingy and shy around strangers at first. he used to be super extroverted, but lately he's taken to wrapping himself around my leg when meeting someone new-ish.
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
ooh hehe. I'll take two! I would say less whiny and for his ear infection to be cured overnight. I absolutely hate it when he's sick.

Hmmmm...I wish she would take longer naps. Her two naps used to be really good (up to 2 hours each) but now each nap is about 1-1h 20minutes.

I would love it if he would sleep through the night (still wakes up once a night most nights) ... and be able to go back to sleep after waking without nursing!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
oh I'm gonna claim a third. No rules here, right? No more night wakings / night terrors! I've hated them ever since the beginning and nothing we try helps. We may have to take him to a sleep specialist some day soon.

Hands down, I'd like LO to be completely free of allergies. My second would be that she be less clingy.

All three of my boys I would pick instant potty trained as I am in the midst of getting that done and I am exhausted. With my daughter it would be for her to keep through the night in her crib
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@Andrea: oh no, you have a nut allergy with your LO?
I'd say I'd have to choose no more night wakings. That would solve most of our problems. As a distant second I'd want him to eat a wider range of foods.

@looch: yes, we tried peanut butter twice and she had a reaction so we have an appointment with an allergist in a few weeks. =(
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@Andrea: uggg, that sucks! I know you were holding off trying and I forgot to ask you about it.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@looch: yeah, I can't believe it! No one has food allergies in our family. Ho hum. I just hope she's in the 20% of kids that will grow out of it.
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@Andrea: Sorry to hear that! We have nut allergies too. (Cashew and pistachio) She had never even been exposed to a pistachio and she was allergic. We knew because she reacted to cashews when I just had them in the car with her... so it's pretty bad!
Oh and what would I change? The current whining phase for sure!
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: wow, just being in the car with it, that is so scary. =( We don't eat a lot of nuts in our family, mainly only peanut butter, so I am not sure about other nuts yet.
Agree, I am lumping whining into tantrums. Dislike!

I would love to DD's being clingy with me to stop along with her whining. Oh and our dog's clingy with me as well so I just really want to be left alone by everyone right now.

The only thing I'd change is her night sleep! Would love for her to go from 7pm-7am!
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
Better napper but still be a good night sleeper!
And stop freaking out at the boob!
@mrs. wagon: that makes me so sad that lil wagon needs to see a sleep specialist!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
Well for sure sleeping better! I would be totally fine with ONE night feeding, if he slept from 8pm to 8am waking at 4am to eat - I'd be blissfully happy!
And that our thrush would go away. It cleared up on him, but not me, so he got it again!! ugh. It's been nearly 2 weeks And today he was doing a bit of a nursing strike again. I hate hate hate it.
@Andrea: oooh that is so unfortunate! I love nuts.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: I knew a girl in high school who had a nut (any nut) allergy SO badly that you couldn't even eat a nut before going to see her or she would get a crazy reaction. Her allergies were so bad it was life or death.
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@Coco Bee: I've heard of kids who died when someone kissed them after eating peanut butter. It's scary!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: yeah it's so unfortunate. DH and I LOVE all nuts and peanut butter so I REALLY hope DS doesn't get an allergy. We might even wait longer than the suggested 3 years before giving it to him just in case.
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@Coco Bee: I wish that would help, but new research shows that earlier introduction is better.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: oh for real? I had no idea. What is the ideal age now?
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
Age at the Introduction of Solid Foods During the First Year and Allergic Sensitization at Age 5 Years
CONCLUSION: Late introduction of solid foods was associated with increased risk of allergic sensitization to food and inhalant allergens.
Pediatrics 2010
Early Consumption of Peanuts in Infancy Is Associated With a Low Prevalence of Peanut Allergy Pediatrics 2008.
This is a rapidly changing field and I don't think there is a consensus for ideal age for introduction anymore. Just be sensible and introduce one new food at a time so that you can assess any adverse effects.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: I do wish I had introduced nuts earlier but I was too scared! When did you first give it to Lala?
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@Andrea: As soon as I knew we had a problem with cashews and pistachios (I think around 8 months), we gave peanut butter just prior to a peds visit.

I wish my LO would drink cow's milk and I wish she didn't have eczema because I know it makes her so itchy and uncomfortable.

I would have Caidence stop acting out and Lillian latch on better at first... I nearly dread her initial latch because of pain, it gets better once she gets going at least!

If Wonder Baby could be a better napper, she's killing me with wearing her all day and it's making her super tired when she doesn't get enough sleep.
Toddler Girl...it's a little thing, but if she could just learn to talk quietly. She doesn't understand the concept of quiet at all and there is usually someone trying to fall asleep here.
GOLD / pear / 1845 posts
And to add into the allergy conversation, we did peanut butter right away at 6 months (little bits, not enough to gum her up and be a choking hazard) and watched carefully. They say that the first reaction is usually pretty mild but lets you know there's a problem! Our Doctor said to let them try everything as young as possible...to the horror of many people who watched her eat. But they already thought I was trying to kill her with the Baby Led Weaning so, meh?

@regberadaisy: Ditto to the fussing at the boob.
I wish DS would stop snarfing his milk and instead eat for more then 5 minutes.....and stop crying at the end of his feedings (still trying to figure out why...)
pomegranate / 3053 posts
For my LO to take longer naps and fall asleep on his own w/o being rocked to sleep.
pomegranate / 3053 posts
@winniebee: I had the same problem with my first (he's 3 now). I thought it was b/c he was still hungry so my husband would insist that I top him off with formula. I'm not sure if that was a good idea since it took almost 3 months for my milk supply to stabilize and be enough for him.
With our second one I decided not to top him off with formula and just let him stay at the boob a little longer for a second let down. He does sometimes cry a little bit (more like a whiny cry) and then my second let down happens and he's happy again. And if he's hungry under 2 hours I'll feed him anyway. I just see it as a growth spurt. I also found that my supply is lower during certain times of the day, especially if I've been running around doing errands or chores around the house.

I'd LOVE to get a full night's sleep out of DD but I know that won't happen for a long time. For DS, if he could lose the attitude/listen...ahhh life would be easy!
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
I wish she didn't do the fake cry when she doesn't get her way. Her cry face is adorable though at least.
