Schools. Otherwise, I really like where we live!

@oliviaoblivia: that would be my #1, too. I live in an apartment building, but we are surrounded by all these cute single family homes that are way out of our price range. I can look but I can't touch

The speed limit although I totally get why it's that speed (park/daycare means it goes from 50 to 30km/hr). But still. Super annoying. Oh. And the fact I have to pull a u- turn to get to our lot b/c there's a big median.

I'd love more family-friendly restaurants and diners closer to home.

Definitely have it more family friendly, the neighborhood I live in, is mostly old people.

I'd love some nicer neighbors!

schools - when looking to purchase this house, my Realtor warned that the schools in this district were no good and that we'd have to send our kids to one of the 3 private schools in the area. Since we didnt have kids, and getting pregnant was proving difficult for us, we didnt think much of it. now, all i keep thinking about is how we'll have to move in the next 4 years to a better school district!

@autumnlove: Ditto this. We moved into a very geriatric neighborhood. I know there will be turn over in the next 10 years, but our last neighborhood was all babies!

The age of our neighbors. The majority of families in our neighborhood have older kids (high school or college), so DD doesn't have anyone her age to play with. Hopefully that will change as she gets older!

Or, if I want to be impractical, how close it is to the freeway. It takes 10 minutes to get to any major freeway - really drags out my work commute!

home pricing and transportation. its hard having just one train line.

Less cars and more people that keep up their curb appeal. I think all the cars parked on the street and some of the dumpy looking houses bring down the whole neighborhood. Otherwise, I love our neighborhood.

We picked our area specifically for the schools but, because the schools are good, the house prices are really high and we had to buy a tiny house!! I'd love to be able to afford a bigger house around here! I think that's it, really.

I wish we had better stores/resturants by us. We have one grocery store and it's one that I hate shopping at, I wish we had a Target & HyVee closer!

I like our neighborhood in general, but it could definitely be a lot prettier. Or old neighborhood was just amazingly gorgeous, so of course we got priced out when we needed a 2 bed!
Also the schools in our neighborhood aren't good at all, but I knew we probably won't still be here when LOs are starting school so we didn't care (renting).

And this is a small thing, but seriously, I wish people would pick up after their dogs. It's so gross. If you walk your dog, you need to pick up his mess. Period. But that was an issue in my old fancy neighborhood and my new, less fancy neighborhood.

i'll pick something broad- like increasing safety, that would include removing the hobos that live in the woods between us & the park, cleaning up of gross debris (trash, empty bottles, broken glass, crack pipes, condoms, random articles of clothing, oh how i wish i was kidding!) littering the areas around us, people containing their violence to inside their homes (don't hide guns under the booths at mcdonalds, or kill people in the apts & then throw their baby in a carseat in the middle of the st). have i mentioned i reallllly want to buy a house ASAP? =D

A nice close grocery store.

I really like ours! We live in a small town so there isn't anything super close, but walking to downtown takes less then 10 minutes.

I don't know if I'd change anything! My neighbours are mu best friends. Maybe more mature trees so there was more privacy?

Driveways instead of a back lane. I hate having to go back there to park.

The price of homes and the amount of space they have! We love our location, but we are dying for a bigger home without the steep price tag.
