Bee and I have talked about moving to Paris for a year at some point. I wouldn't mind that, although I'm sure the language barrier would be hard!
If you could move somewhere internationally with your SO and LO(s) for a year, where would you go?

I'd love to move to paris for a year!
We'd probably move to Korea so we can brush up on our Korean and the kids can become fluent.

No where. We did the London move already and I am done moving. I like my house!

For only a year? London. I would not want to be there for 5 years, though. Being away from family is pretty hard now.

My husband is from Australia, and we would love to live there for a while.

We've talked about Yemen, since DH and I would like to attend Arabic language school, although we would be more likely to choose Morocco if we're bringing a family.
We'd love to spend time in Australia or New Zealand too though.

AssumIng someone is paying my mortgage ;p
Germany or China! Husband's German and I'm Chinese! Would love for LO to know where they come from.

Switzerland or Sweden or Vancouver. We were talking about this just the other day!

Spain! My husband lived there for a year after college and speaks Spanish pretty well. He also has friends there and I'd be able to better my Spanish even though I don't like the way Spaniards speak.

Greece! If my countrymen would stop running the homeland into the ground!!

Africa. I've lived there before and I'd like my family to experience it

No moving for me, I love where I live! I'm happy just visiting places on vacation.

I'm Canadian, so this isn't international, but we would have loved to have lived on the West coast or Newfoundland for a year. Not a reality though with a stepson here, I don't think his mom would be happy with us taking off for a year!!

We have talked about doing this when our kids (that we don't even have yet) are in late elementary school. Our plan is to live in France, probably Paris but perhaps a small town in southern France that is close to Marseille (so we would have quick access to the high speed train line.) We would live in that place but then take a lot of trips to various places through Europe.
The other place that is a possibility is Turkey, it would be a really other worldly experience and it would leave our children with an amazing language skill (we would probably wait until they are a touch older to go here versus France.)
Truthfully though unless we had family in poor health we would move just about anywhere if the right experience came about.

Australia or New Zealand because we have family there and we'd love to scuba dive the great barrier reef.

Australia. Our best friends live there, and came here for a year, so we'd love to go there.

Australia, and then we could take a nice little trip to Bora Bora/Fiji, which is our all time dream. Some day...sigh

Germany or Australia. We talked about it, before, and it might still be an option sometime in the future.

Ireland! One of my life goals is to buy an old estate on the coast, restore it, and keep it as my summer home.

So many to choose from. With DH in a "global" field, we have thought of this possibility often. I think my list of places I wouldn't move is shorter. Anywhere in Europe is on top of my "go-to" places though.

Unless it was work related, no where. I currently live abroad and it had a lot of challenges that I wouldn't expose my kids to. Learning a language isn't an important enough reason at this stage in my life.

Hmm. If someone's paying my mortgage, maybe Canada or Southern France. I'd only do it when LO is a baby though. Realistically, we'd likely move back to my hometown - San Diego.

England, I would like to be able to speak the language lol. Germany might be nice too

Ethiopia. If for some reason, we couldn't do somewhere in Africa, we would probably choose London or Sydney.

@Tidybee: I agree - DH is in a global field as well and we are looking at a potential move in the spring. On my (very) shortlist is: Anywhere in Canada, Ireland, France, Switzerland (the only European options) or South Africa (for a short stint). Utah and Colorado are also options which are enticing.
Ultimately I want to end up back in Canada, on the East Coast to raise our children when they are school-aged. Not sure if that will even be a possibility with DH's career, though.
