We waited until she was born and she was H, there was no question about it.

@lawbee11: We had a serious name and a more fun name. When LO was born she just had a very serious face so we chose the serious name. I could already see a bit of her personality and knew she wasn't the whimsical girl of the second name.

We only waited until she was born because it forces you to decide! Didn't feel like she looked like any of the names tho.

Names are really hard! We had a different dilemma in that DH and I both had our own first choice names but I didn't like his and vice versa. We had the same conversation over and over again until I finally decided we needed to move on and pick something already. We ended up picking my close #2 name that DH also liked and I now can't imagine LO with any other name.

It was hard for me to give up on the ideal vision of the one perfect name that just had to be for LO that we magically agreed was "the one". The reality was that we had 3-4 very good names that would probably have been great for LO. I suspect either of your names would be great too, which makes it hard.

I decided we just had to make a decision around 32 weeks too so I know the feeling...good luck!

Pick a name out of a hat or set up a poll on HB and ask for lots of votes/no comments. After the majority wins, you will either be happy or sad by the outcome and then you will have your true answer of which one to pick.

Can you let us choose?!

We had three names. About 30 minutes after she was born, her name was clear.

We waited until after he was born. It was down to 2 names and as soon as we saw him we agreed he totally fit one name more than the other.

We had 3-4 names for DD and didn't name her until the next morning. Honestly, it came down to letting DH decide. He didn't like my top name choice and I wasn't sold on his top choice. So we picked the second name we both agreed on (that he initially suggested), and I let him pick the MN since I got to pick all of DS's name. I don't think there has to be a *perfect* name, but something you at least like that you both can agree on. I still think my top name choice could have worked for DD but I also don't have any regrets about the name we did choose.

@PrincessBaby: If you both like them equally, maybe let H pick one out of a hat? Then you could also say she "named" her baby sister

We had three names. We waited until she was born and then named her. It was actually easy. She came out and we just knew. It just felt right.

I think maybe take a break from the name discussion for a couple weeks. You have quite a while to decide still. There's really no hurry.

We waited until the day after he was born, simply because we couldn't decide. He didn't "look" like any of the names we had on the list, though. So we ended up choosing the only one we both felt ok about. It wasn't even in my or my husband's top 3, but it's still a good name and it fits him well. We have no regrets on how it ended up. And I agree with @SeptMomma12; let H pull a name and just go with it if you want to decide before the birth. It's a cute story.

My husband was so set on naming our son, but I really didn't like his style and he wasn't a fan of mine. We bounced names back and forth for months. In the end we only had a few names we both liked and neither of our favorites.

We decided to wait and meet him before committing. DH was so overwhelmed by labour and child birth and said to me "you choose his name, you earned it!" I picked a name I knew we both liked and I'm so happy we didn't go with either of our personal first choices.

We had it down to two and had no idea how we were ever going to pick one of them. One evening I just said "Let's just name her X" and DH was like, yes let's do that. It felt right. Cross one item off the to-do list.

Honestly we had it narrowed down to 2, and I used the "you're in trouble" test I said out loud the names with the phrase "XYZ, you come here right now!" And I knew from that which one was my child's name HAHA so silly but it worked.

We were really torn, so we we waited until she was born to decide. I do think that meeting her ultimately helped us come to a decision, but we didn't know what to name her right after her birth. It actually took us two additional days to decide, and having the baby go nameless that long was kind of stressful. The nurses were always asking us if we'd decided yet. I'm really hoping we can make a decision before she's born this time, but so far we aren't having much success in that department!

@PrincessBaby: glad you got some clarity! gotta say i'm a bit jealous, i want to know what this baby's name is gonna be! haha. Hayden is adorable. Have you decided on a middle name?
