If you had the ability to set your own schedule but it had to equal 40 hours what hours would you work? Pretend you have a little one who goes to bed around 7-7:30pm.

I have this ability now and I like to work 6:30-3:00 or 7:00-3:30

I was about to say never until I saw it had to equal 40 hours.
7:30-3:30/4 would be my dream work hours

i would work from 7:30 - 12:00am. And then again from 9:30-1:00pm. I'm a night owl!

@autumnlove: I want your schedule!! Exactly that! I have to be up early anyway, might as well get the worst part of the day over with

7-3 would be great. When I go back to work I'll do 7:30-4. What annoys me is we are expect to be at work for 8.5 hours at my job. But they assume a 30 minute lunch break so it's considered only working 40 hours. But every damn day I eat my lunch at my desk while working, which is what's expected of me. So I essentially work for free for 30 minutes everyday.

@MamaMoose: Ugh I'm paid hourly and even end up doing that a lot! We don't have a break room so if I don't go home for lunch I can either sit in a conference room (and usually they're full) or at my desk. NO fun.

i loved my 630-430 m-th =)
@sslm: that's been a requirement for me in all my jobs for the past 8 years, i like my long weekends =) sometimes i'll pick up hours on a friday, but i don't ever HAVE to work fridays which is AWESOME!!

If I had to do 40 hours, I'd do 7-3 M-F. But my total idea would be to work 25 hours a week...9-3 M-F.

I set my own schedule now. I don't have kids so it doesn't really matter when I work, but I work graveyard shifts.

I LOVED when I worked 6-2, because I had practically the whole afternoon off! Right now, because I'm a tired preggo, I'd love to work like 10-6 or something, so I could sleep all morning.

Oh and I do get to pick my schedule now, so long as I am there between 9-3 which are "core" hours. I work 7:30-4!

I do that now. I typically work 7:30-4:30. I take an hour for lunch and get things done around the house/cook dinner (I WAH).

I would work 8-5 M-Th, and 8-12 Friday. Even with a LO, I don't think I will ever be a morning person, so 8 is the earliest I can do. It would be great to have a job that is JUST 40 hours, and have a short day Friday because I came in an hour early 4 days a week. However, I have a round the clock job with long unpredictable hours - this would get laughed at!

7 am - 3:30 pm would be ideal so I can get home and spend time with LO. My work is stupid and is not flexible at all with schedule. We all have to work 8-5 and I have a 45 min commute which means I get home close to 6! Ugh I'm not looking forward to starting back full time.
