If you're married and you didn't change your last name, what was your reason? When we got married I didn't want to change my last name, but DH was adamant about it. I decided to change my maiden name to middle name to keep my identity. I read somewhere before that divorce rates were higher with women who didn't change their last names, so that also gave me more incentive to make the change. It took me a couple of years to get used to it, but I am glad now. I would have changed it anyway once we had a LO, I had always decided on that.

I have a few friends who didn't change because that's the norm in their culture or for professional reasons. Maybe even feminist choice? If you didn't change your name, why?
