If you failed 1 hour did you pass 3 hour? I failed 1 hour by 10. Just curious others experience. I know GD isn't the end of the world and can actually be a blessing in disguise. I passed 1 hour when pregnant with B and I'm in way better shape this pregnancy and eating well.

Per my OB it really has nothing too much to do with lifestyle, and strictly a result of the specific pregnancy so don't feel bad! I hope you pass the 3 hour, esp if you were so close!
As you already, I failed my 1 hour test so miserably that I never even took the 3 hour one!

I failed the 1 hour with DS and passed the 3 hour. This time I passed the 1 hour. The only thing that was different was the time of day I took the test this time: morning vs afternoon. My diet and exercise have been the same for both pregnancies.

No, I failed them both. I took both early in the morning and fasted for both of them. I didn't fail by much, maybe 10 or 15 points on my 2nd hour.

I failed the 1 hour by a little under 25 points and also failed the three hour. Nothing I did would have made a difference since it ended up being that my fasting sugar was the problem, my body just doesn't regulate blood sugar properly when I'm asleep. Well, this pregnancy anyways - I didn't have it with my older son.

@BandDmommy: Nope, same time. But if you truly have GD the time isn't going to make a difference. But usually the three hour you have to take early in the day since you have to fast before it.

I failed the one hour and was really upset but then passed the three hour. I didn't fast for the one hour but I wished I had!

Failed both with my first pregnancy. Took it earlier in my second pregnancy and again failed the 1 hour. Also had a hemoglobin/A1C check done in my second pregnancy which was elevated so I didn't bother with the 3 hour.
Like @wonderstruck:, it's a fasting/overnight issue for me. All of my tests were done first thing in the morning.
During this pregnancy, my doctor recommended having my breakfast before my 1 hour, but to not eat within 1 hour of the test. She also suggested that whatever I eat for breakfast shouldn't be the worst thing I had ate in a month. I don't recall what I ate prior during my first pregnancy.

my first pregnancy I passed the 1 hour. second I was in better shape, exercising more and eating better but I failed the 1 hour, then the 3 hour. I was borderline so I didn't need insulin, and limiting my carbs and sugars kept my numbers under control. Good luck!!

My first pregnancy, I failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour. I'm nervous for this time. I'm in better shape than I was last time, but I'm eating so much sugar and carbs...
Also, I remember the night before my one hour test eating a bunch of cookies. For the three hour, I kind of prepared for a few days by not eating as much sugar and trying to limit carbs. Not sure if it helped or not.

I limited my sugar for a few days before the 1-hour and I still failed.
I decided to just do what I normally do before the 3-hour and accept whatever the results were, and I passed

With DS1, I passed the one hour.
With DS2, I failed both and had GD. I controlled it through diet and honestly I cheated a lot. -

And just FYI based on what my doctor told me - trying to limit your sugars for the days or week before the test can actually make you more likely to fail it! I mean, you don't want to load up with sugar right before it or anything like that, be reasonable with your breakfast that morning. But if you suddenly start taking in less sugar than usual in preparation for the test, when you drink the nasty sugary stuff they give you, your body may respond worse than it typically would since it will be more of a shock to your system.

I actually passed the 1 hour, but my doctor said it was up to me to take the 3 hour since I was within a point. I failed the 3 hour miserably. I only had to live the GD lifestyle for about 5 weeks since I found out at 30 weeks and LO was born at 35 weeks.

Nope, failed them both. I failed the one hour by less than 10 points, but my three hour results were pretty bad.

I passed the 1 hour my first pregnancy. I gained an absurd amount of weight.
I failed the 1 hour this last pregnant. I bombed it. I even accidentally fasted for it and still failed miserably.
I passed the three hour.

With DS1, I passed the one hour. I passed all 3 times!! They tested me often because my mom has diabetes.
With DS2, I failed the first time at 10 weeks for the one hour (by like 40 points though) and failed my 3 hour test so I had GD. I so far been able to control it through diet and I'm now 23 weeks.
I read if it's caught earlier it gets harder to control later on... so I think I may be doom for medication anyways.
Anyways... since you only failed by 10 points I have a good feeling you will pass your 3 hour test.

Failed the 1 hour, passed the 3 hour. Ate a bagel before the 1 hour because it was later in the day so I think that was the culprit!

Failed both for my first pregnancy. I had to take the test at 18 weeks with my second pregnancy, and I failed both tests again. Sigh. I was able to control with diet both times, and I was healthier because of it.

I barely (if I remember right) failed the 1 hour but passed the 3 hour with my first one. My 3 hour was miserable because the first draw was delayed so I ended up having fasted (minus the glucose water) for something like 16 hours. It. Sucked. I'm REALLY hoping I pass the 1 hour in a few weeks this time around!

For all three pregnancies, I failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour. Should I become pregnant again I might ask to just go to the three hour one.
