We were very lucky with LO who was a surprise. Hoping when we are ready to TTC LO #2 it happens fast! Wondering what is most common here.

1st month trying with number 1, second time took 10 months with 2 miscarriages in that time. I ended up trying comid and it worked the second cycle.

One try with both. I was really nervous about it taking longer with #2.

My situation is a little different because I do have fertility issues but treatment before TTC has usually regulated my fertility.?#1 and #2 were both first cycles, but the second ended in miscarriage. #3 then took four months.

One try with my first two pregnancies. We ended up losing the second and got pregnant again before my period came back (currently 30 weeks). Good luck!

We got pregnant on the first try with LO1 (and a miscarriage prior to that). I voted "NTNP" for our second one. Technically it was a surprise to us but we were using natural family planning to prevent and I think any time you are using NFP or PNP you can't be totally surprised if you end up pregnant.

#1 - First month ntnp, 2nd - complete surprise, #3 - surprise (loss), #4 - 2nd month ntnp.

First was first month NTNP
Second was first month NTNP that we actually had good timing. Ended in MC.
Trying again now. It's been since May that we stared NTNP but that includes the loss.

We have been very lucky. 1st try for first pregnancy (loss), 2nd try for LO, 1st try for this pregnancy (hopefully LO2).

This is a weird answer but first try for #1 and first try for #2 but #2 ended in a M/C. We have not tried again after that.

Thanks everyone! I know there's no way to really predict at the moment but I'm glad First Cycle TTC and Conceived While NTNP is pulling ahead in the polls!
I'm sad to hear so many of you had losses though.
@Ajsmommy: @Mrs. Champagne:
@Truth Bombs: We were using NFP/PNP but I still call LO a surprise. It's simpler than always explaining, "Well, we were surprised, but we really shouldn't have been, and we were happy, but shocked..." She's our kid so we get to call her whatever we want.

Pregnant on the first try with my daughter. Got pregnant again on our first real month of trying (we had pulled the goalie one previous cycle, but weren't able to have sex until after I had ovulated- I knew that, and don't really count it) but we lost that pregnancy at 7 weeks. I'm optimistic we will get pregnant again quickly- we start trying again next month.

#1 was a surprise
#2, i got pregnant on my sixth cycle trying. it had been 7 months since we started, but we purposely skipped a month.

#1 was a happy surprise, #2 took 15 months of trying with an MC at 12 months. Since I had an easy time the first time I was expecting it to happen quickly the 2nd time but it didn't.

Those of you who took a while to get pregnant the second time (I would count 6+ months as a while), if you don't mind sharing, how old are/were you? I feel like things you read say that secondary infertility is often related to age - but my friends IRL that have dealt with it are not "old" to me (early 30s).

@daniellemybelle: I was 28 when I had LO1 and will be 31 when I have LO2. I was 29/30 while we were trying.

@daniellemybelle: I was 20 when I had lo1, 22 while trying and 23 when I had lo2 (who is 9 weeks old)

All of my pregnancies happened very easily. #2 was a surprise that ended in a miscarriage. It took me 9 months before I was ready to try, and LO2 was conceived right away.

@daniellemybelle: mine was about 6/7 months - I was 34 & 35 through the second pregnancy.
Took longer with my first, maybe 9-10 months or more.

Thanks everybody! So glad to hear the stories of those of you who had to wait and finally getting your second baby!
