I just had my third csection. My first was due to my daughter being breech, like you. It was just a positive experience that I chose to have a RCS with my son in 2012. Then when we got pregnant a third time, my doctor recommended another RCS for the third birth. All were positive experiences...although I do feel like this last one has had the most difficult recovery. Not sure if I'm only feeling that way bc I'm experiencing it now (10/8) so it's fresh in my mind...

I know it's not exactly what you asked, but this kid is getting delivered alien-style just like the first. I had a super long induction with E, and my pelvis just isn't conducive to delivering the good old fashioned way. And even if I wanted to, they aren't very well set up for VBACs up here. (Which is a shame for the women who want them.)

I desperately wanted a natural birth, but I had a csection after stalling at 4cm after 14 hours of labor.

I'm in the same boat. I'm just thinking about scheduling a RCS for my next one even though I get those sad feelings sometimes that I missed out on the birthing experience. But my C went really great too and I had a good experience.

I had a csection in 3/12 with my son because he was breech... I went into labor at 36 weeks and found out then he was breech and in 4 1/2 hours I was fully dilated and had to have an emergency csection. It was a good experience and I recovered very well but since we want more than 2 I was hoping for a vbac next. I had DD in 12/13 and had a successful vbac. My midwife & OB were very supportive since I actually labored with DS and showed that I could progress fully. I recovered well from my vbac too and preferred that recovery especially with having a toddler to take care of and not a lot of help during the days. The decision was harder than I thought just because of worries but I am so glad we had a vbac. It was a completely different experience.

I will attempt vbac if I have another. I had very little pain after my emergency c section but I had my incision open up one week pp which was terrifying and the restrictions (few stairs, no lifting, no driving) were too hard to stick with. I imagine they would be even harder if I had a toddler to care for too!

I had a RCS!

I had a c-section with my first after his heart rate was recovering and they tried to use the vacuum several times and it failed. With my second I went back and forth many times with what I wanted to do. I ended up having a successful vbac and everything worked out great. My doctor and hospital are very vbac friendly so that helped. It's a tough decision! Ultimately I decided I wanted to do a vbac because we may want to have more children and I know the risks can increase with each c-section. Plus I had a super fast labor of about 25 minutes after my water broke so my body made the decision for me.

I wanted to do natural child birth as well. Well, over 100 hours later I had an emergency c-section. I was pissed at myself, my body and my experience for a long time. I got pregnant with my second, when my son was a year old. I was hoping my doctor would make the decision for me and say that I needed to have one. She was very supportive of a VBAC and said that I was the type of person that would probably waffle about it until the day the baby was born. I didn't want to do the labour again, but I was so against a c-section the first time, that I couldn't let myself choose to have one. She told me to book one anyway, and if I changed my mind, no problem, but at least I had a date. I booked for 39 weeks, 5 days. Went for the pre-op the week before and still hadn't made up my mind. Ended up she wanted to come a week early so I laboured for awhile and decided I didn't want to exhaust my body only to end up in a c-section again. By that time, it had become urgent again so I went for a c-section. Recovery was much easier the second time around. Maybe a little more tender the first cpl days but I was able to do a lot more than with the first. One thing my OB said that stuck with me is that people don't regret choosing a section, and people who have a successful vbac don't regret it, it's the people that choose to vbac and can't for whatever reason that are very disappointed. So that was in my head and helped me be ok with the second c-section. I would have been very upset if I tried for days on end again and wasn't successful. I am just blabbering on now...

I labored for 18 hours and pushed for 4 before ending up with an emergency c-section with my first. I am currently 19 weeks pregnant with my second and we decided on a repeat c-section.

First was a planned c section due to breech and the second was an amazing VBAC experience. I didn't thibk I cared but in the end I am so glad I went for the vbac. The recovery was so much easier and I felt amazing right after birth. Please feel free to pm if you have any questions.

Currently trying to make this decision myself. LO #1 was posterior with an asynclitic presentation (the side of the head) so even though I dilated fully after a looong labour and pushed for an hour, LO was stuck and I needed a CS.

I am flip flopping between the easy and predictable lead up to a RCS and the desire to have a VBAC because I was trying to go natural with my first. I had a really good recovery with my first but it's entirely possible that I won't have that experience again and I don't really want to be hindered physically for very long with a toddler at home.

To those who had a VBAC, did any of you tear really badly? How did that compare to healing from your incision? I worry that I would end up with a worse recovery than my CS if I happen to tear or need an extreme epi. Does anyone have lasting trauma/injury to the nether regions (like nerve pain, incontinence etc..?). Sorry if that's too personal, really trying to weigh my options!
