Unless that is standard operating procedure I don't think mine was recorded. I wouldn't to see it anyway. I can watch medical dramas with no problem, but reality TV medical stuff freaks me out.

I think I would watch...after my last one I've had 2 (one un-planned and one planned) and while I don't get squeamish, I do want to have a 3rd, and don't want a video to scar me for life before doing so! HAHA so maybe when I'm all said and done i'll watch.

noooooo. I can see it making some women feel less stressed and more empowered, but that wouldn't be the case for me. Some things are better left to mystery!

I haven't had a C section but I don't think I want to watch the video! I'm currently pregnant so I think I would rather not know!

Watching a video during the childbirth class was enough for me. I had vaginal deliveries and didn't want a mirror. My husband's description of the horror show of the births was enough for me.

@LulaBee: the tugging and pulling is what I remember! I watched one in nursing school and it was intense!

I had no interest in seeing a video before mine. But I wish my second one had been recorded - DD starting grabbing at their tools halfway out. She grabbed onto a vacuum or something and wouldn't let go, lol.

@tinyperson: My husband took some photos of right when B was pulled out, and then put them in a shared album, and then my dad, who is a teacher, was for some reason showing them to all the people he worked with, and I had to take his access away because while I think it's interesting I was uncomfortable with photos of my internal organs being shared with strangers.

I did! Probably a month or two after. My friend had an unplanned one and so did I and she said it helped her to be able to see what happened in surgery so I watched it. I found it really interesting actually. I had no idea they had to go through so many layers and it really is quite intricate. We're lucky that it's an option to get babies out!

@erinbaderin: I'm going to remember that for next time! I wondered if they would let people watch if they wanted to, but they probably don't either for germ protection or because even someone said they were fine with seeing it they might pass out or get nervous.

I would never have watched it while pregnant because I assumed that a c-section wasn't even on the radar for me. I was really surprised by how everything turned out.
