Seeing Mrs. Yo-yo's awesome playroom made me want a playroom! But that's probably not going to be an option for us in New York unless we move out of the city! Containing the toys in one room... what a dream!
What would you use an extra room for? An office? bedroom? craft room?

We have converted our formal dining into a playroom so if we had a spare room, maybe a workout room.

I'd love a workout room, an office or a guest bedroom. I would take any of those!
I have a two bedroom condo, and the second bedroom has been EMPTY since we purchased it three+ years ago. I'm hoping to make it a nursery soon enough!

We have a den that we currently use as an office/library because DH was againstt he plyaroom idea, but Mrs Yoyo's room is making me reconsider.

I'd love two other rooms: another room for another baby and maybe a guest room or workout room. With a guest room, it would give MIL cause to visit, so maybe better without one.

@Mrs. Bee: Most practical would be a bedroom/guest room. We have my stepkids in the summer. They are in LO's nursery now and he (and all of his stuff) is in our room. That works now because he is 12 weeks old but will get more difficult in the future!
I'd also love a craft room/office/reading nook/place to put a treadmill! 
I just need a big house!

A live-in nanny! It would be the same price or cheaper than our live-out nanny. But we just don't have the space... we use the room that SHOULD be available for that, for storage.

I think location in the house helps in the decision ... I knew I really wanted a first-floor playroom, so I only looked at floor plans that could accommodate that. On the second floor, our extra room is a guestroom/office combo. (We originally had enough space to have them separate, but what was going to be DH's office is now going to be a nursery for LO#2 ... whoops!)

An extra (good size) room would be a workout room for DH. He is slowly, but surely taking over the garage with all his exercise gear.

Our extra room is a guest bedroom until we eventually have LO #2! We are finishing a room in our basement for a combo guest/play room for when that happens

Craft room/office would be nice, right now the three boys share a room and like it but in the future they might not like it as much so I would probably give them extra rooms.

This is an exciting thread b/c we're about to put in an offer on a house where we would have a variety of extra rooms. Top on our list are playroom (a must!), family room, and guest room / office. Oh, I hope we get this house!!

We have a spare room. We have our huge wardrobe in there, a sofa bed for guests, about 300 books all up the walls, our household filing and my craft stuff (plus a mini fridge and coffee maker for late night feeding). I don't know where all that will go when our baby outgrows the tiny boxroom nursery and needs that room.... So if I had another spare room I'd use it for a childs room and keep my spare room!

Right now our extra room is a music /workout/ storage room. If it was solely up to me, I would make it into a craft,wrapping, sewing room. I loved the playroom post but for us, Lo's toys are distributed in different areas or centers in a few rooms and I like it that way.
