we had 2 in diapers and we just use a small (open, no lid) under sink garbage in the kitchen. we do live in a small apartment though, and would take out the garbage once or twice a day. (grocery store sized bag)

@Ash: lol do you know how big your simple human is? We have the 50 L semi-round.

we have a bunch of small open regular cans because we change them in different places. We take the garbage out a lot.

We use the individual nappy bags for all dirty nappies, tie them up, and hang them on the handle of the laundry room door to go outside to the proper bin when I have a free minute. Wet nappies just go in our normal kitchen bin with the lid.

I have 15mo twins. We have the diaper dekor and I hate it. The bottom door is always busting open. If I had to do it again, I'd just buy a normal step trash can, or one of those touchless trashcans. There's no reason to get a fancy diaper can. Just take the trash out regularly.
