We have the Animal, but it's not the ball one. It's 2 years old, I think. I love it! Best vacuum I've owned for sure.

We have an animal ball style dyson. DH found it refurbished for a steal! I love it...it is amazing how much crap it picks up from our animals and I love how easy it is to dump out and clean the roller thing (the thing that spins and sucks up the stuff from the carpet.
Get a ball style for sure though...I never realized how awesome that was until I first used it!

We have the Dyson ball, multi surface one I think. It's awesome. I can go from carpet to our hardwood floors without having to change any settings. We got it when Target was offering a decent gift card with purchase.

We have a Dyson - I think it's the animal but it's from 2007 so I'm not sure.
I love it, especially since it's still going strong 7 years later. To be fair, we don't use it a lot anymore since our current house has mostly wood floors/tile.

We have a dyson, not the animal one though (I wish!!). It's fantastic. I also found it cheap because it was refurbished.

We have the Dyson animal with the ball. It's 4 years old and still going strong. I love it.

We have the older Dyson Slim. But we really want a Miele canister!

I heard Miele is better than Dyson, but I have a Dyson.
Miele's are better for asthmatics. We got a Dyson because it was at Costco. I didn't know where to go to get a Miele.

We have a regular Dyson ball and two cats. Works great for us

We have a Dyson canister. Does the job. I think my dog just she'd an OBSCENE amount.

@sorrycharlie: @mauxie: what do you love about a canister? I haven't used one in ages...is it easy to get around?
We have carpet all over and I love vacuuming so I'm taking my time..haha!

@autumnlove: Long reach! I drag it around behind me. I can get under the entire couch, all the way under our king sized bed, etc!

Dyson ball. Something was wrong with it, I dropped it off at a ups store and they shipped it back to my house fixed!

We have the Dyson dc23 canister (animal motorhead). We love it and it gets a ridiculous amount of cat hair out of our rugs. Like @sorrycharlie: we also prefer a canister vacuum for ease of use.

@heartonastring: I h ave dc23 too, I didn't realize it was an animal head!

@sorrycharlie: I think so? I only knew the model number and when I googled it before posting in this thread that's what it said it was

We have the dyson animal. It's fine. I hate vacuuming so this is not my realm! But there is a pretty amazing AMA on reddit from a vacuum repairman that has a lot of great info!

We have a Miele S2121 Olympus Canister. I like it but to be honest I don't vacuum that much. DH does most of the vacuuming and I gave it to him for Christmas a couple of years ago, he likes it and our cleaning lady LOVES it. She says all the time, I wish everyone had this vacuum. And it has a hilarious review on amazon.

We have the Dyson Animal w/ the ball. It's so strong! It's a bit heavy and tiring to use but the suction power, the attachments, and the floor to carpet switch are all amazing!

I have a Dyson with the ball. It's not the Animal, but it's GREAT! I agree that the floor to carpet switch is great.

I have a Dyson but forgot the floor model. It's a ball and detects the change in floor type.

we have a miele canister (a polaris, but i don't think they make that model anymore). love that thing. suction is great and i find it pretty well maneuverable for a canister vacuum.

We have a miele canister and a dyson slim vac (portable). the dyson works fine and I get that it's a portable rechargeable vac, but it doesn't compare to our miele. I love the miele. Plus it's quieter than the dyson.

@autumnlove: in our former apartment we did, so i bought the carpet head attachment. the vacuum head it comes with can he used on smooth floors, thinner area rugs, and small amounts of carpet, but i would recommend buying the carpet head attachment for fully carpeted rooms.

Miele canister. My cleaning lady loves it. She was so happy when our Windtunnel croaked and I got a Miele.

I'm a huge canister fan so when it's time to get a new one I definitely want a Miele.

@Boogs: I tested a few at lunch... I'm in love with Miele!

Old school Dyson animal- love it! However I'd never even heard about the Miele before HB.

@mrs. wagon: Just went through that AMA on reddit! Wow what a great Q&A with the guy. I'm totally sold on a Miele now.
