Top of the stairs so I can keep LO up there! We only have a short staircase though

Bottom. Only our bedroom is upstairs so she doesnt need to be up there. If we move the gate for 30 seconds though, shes at the top!

We have a 3 story townhouse. I intend to install 4 gates, one at the top and bottom of each staircase. (LO is only 3 weeks old so I have some time to baby proof)

Bottom. We also have a gate blocking off just his room upstairs as we usually don't let him into our room/upstairs bathroom.

We keep it at the bottom, but if we go upstairs to play we move it upstairs.

We have one at the top, and one at the bottom. We used to only have one at the top, then I was using the bathroom one day and heard thump thump thump scream. He had learned to climb them then fell down

Top! We have a semi-split level and really should put one in downstairs but there is no where to install it (banister only on one side, no wall).

We have both, also have one in a hallway downstairs to contain to one area of the house. Initially put the gates in to keep our dogs in/out of certain areas, before LO was mobile.

Our flights are very short so at Top. However, if I had a full flight I would do one at top and bottom.

Top. Our stairs are out of the way of the main living area so we don't really need a downstairs gate.

Bottom. We are rarely upstairs to play and if we are I shut whatever bedroom door we are in.

We haven't put them up yet, but we are planning on using one at the top and one at the bottom.

When we were living in a two-story it was only up top; but I would have also put one on the bottom but it was kind of awkward to put one there. My oldest went tumbling down when he was 3 missing a step on the way down. I think a gate at the bottom would have helped soften the blow to his head, maybe... Luckily, no concussion but the sleepiness and yawning 5 mins later was really scary... My youngest LOVED to climb up the stairs... a gate would have been nice. But now we are on a one-level so no gates now!

Currently we have just the top. I'm thinking we will need one for the bottom too. His room and play area are upstairs but we spend a lot of time downstairs so to be on the safe side we should probably have both.
