I have a Mazda 3 and he has a Camry. She fits fine in both!

We have one vehicle for transporting LO, and another vehicle with no back seat (so it could only be used for baby transport in an emergency!).

I think it makes sense to have a small car for him to save on mileage, and a mom car for you. Since you won't be switching off (like with daycare drop offs) I don't think it would matter much. Most likely, you could put LO in the other car in an emergency, it would just be uncomfortable, like the passenger seat would be all the way forward and the passenger would have to sit in the back. That's doable for a few days if your car was in the shop, but you'd save so much on gas, I would think.

That said, we just have one car and live in the city so rarely drive it. Our "sharing" the car consists mostly of him driving it maybe once a week, less in the winter, so it's not really an issue.

I believe a baby should be able to ride in both vehicles. But we do have one that is more comfortable than the other.

We have a scion and a mini and LO can fit in both. It's not the most comfortable in the mini, but definitely works for one!

I have a mommymobile (Mazda CX5 SUV). I have him all day and then we usually go out as a family in it as well.
SO has my old KIA Forte 4 door, saves gas and which fits LO just fine but we only use it rarely, IE if one of us needs the SUV to move furniture, etc.

I am a SAHM. We have two cars. A car seat will fit in my husband's car and we had an infant base in there. My car is by far bigger and easier to get LO in and out of. I can count on one hand the number of times LO rode in my DH's car in the first year. When we switched to the convertible, we just keep it in my car. It would fit in DH's car if necessary. Point is, I think you will want to have a car that LO could ride in, but it does not have to be an ideal baby car.

We have a minivan and a two door acura rsx. LO only rides in the mini van.... unless of course there's an emergency, we can always move the car seat over.

Both our cars can hold LO but my husband's car is less comfortable since it has a smaller interior. So, when we take the entire family, we always take our station wagon.

I voted other (didn't feel like typing the actual category :P) cause we have one baby friendly car and a regular cab truck. We plan to wait until I am near the end of my maternity leave to purchase a replacement vehicle for the truck (we hate that truck so we are excited, but putting it off because we don't have car payments currently and are bummed to have one eventually!)

Both of our cars are baby friendly (I have a Nissan Rogue, DH has a VW Passat). We only have one carseat and it's in my car though we can move it to his car if we need to.
