Separate rooms for sure! My son will stay in his current room (he'll be a year and a half) and the new baby will have it's own room (although I imagine there's be a period where he/she is in our room, or the living room with me on the couch.) I know lots of people room-share and make it work, but to me, if you don't have to do it I'd rather not deal with the hassle. Having one wake up at night or really early in the morning and waking up the other too, trying to have naps timed right so I'm not putting a fussy baby down for a nap while my son is sleeping and interrupt his nap, them having different bed times and the younger one waking up when I'm putting down the older one to bed...nope. Not doing it.

Maybe it wouldn't be as bad as what I'm imagining, but I'm not risking it! lol

Our LO was 19 months when DD2 arrived. Like you, we have a three bedroom with the third bedroom being used as a guest room and we have kept it that way. DD1 is still in a cot in her room and will stay there for a while. DD2 is in the PnP in our bedroom and will likely stay there for six months or so as that's what we did with our first LO. We're moving in the next few months so we'll set up a second nursery for DD2 then for when we move her out of our room. I do plan on having the girls share a room at some stage but not until they're both out of cots.

We moved my toddler at 19 months and had no issues. It's been a year and I can count on one hand the number of times he has gotten out on his own! I did use a sleep sack for the first month or two.
