I thought I did until recently, with all of baby A's health problems.

Turns out I'm quite upset with them for not really asking after her, and they're annoyed with me for not keeping them informed and, it has come out this week, what I put on my Facebook. Which, for the record, is not very much at all.

My sister and I spent a good deal of time messaging each other angrily today and when I step out of the heat of the moment I think we both make good points and that even though I thought I was very close to my family, living on a totally different continent has meant we are not. It's a shame.

I will admit I am rubbish at phoning/skyping, it's not really my thing. But I am excellent at keeping in touch via email, facebook messaging and text. I think the problem is most of my family perfer the former and are rubbish at the latter.

If you live a long way away from your family, how do you keep a good relationship going?
