I didn't, but my BFF met her husband on match.com
Side note...After grad school DH and I were unemployed and bored....
So we signed up for e-harmony to see if we matched. We didnt.

E harmony here. I was on for 2 weeks and DH was on for only a week before we were matched up. We had an 8 hour long first date! It totally worked.

I reconnected with DH on FB but knew him from years before. I have a few friends who have met and married someone they met on Match.com.

The only person I know that met her husband online used eHarmony.

@oliviaoblivia: you're my hero! I've always wanted to do that! I'm too lazy...

@oliviaoblivia: hahaha oh my. Well, our horoscopes said we weren't good matches. I put about as much trust in that as I do your mismatch online.
Not us, but we have a friend who met his wife on match.com.

Technically DH and I met online via Facebook, but only because I knew his parents. They had mentioned he might enjoy getting to know me over his junior year winter vacation from college because they had moved that year so he had flown "home" to break to a place where he knew no one. His parents knew we had lots in common and that we would be good friends. He sent me a message explaining who he was and asking if we could hang out over break. A year later we were engaged!

I didn't, but around here, it used to be JDate (not even sure if that's around anymore, it's for Jewish singles) and local groups. The big sites never worked out for any of the friends of mine that were on it.

@oliviaoblivia: I met DH at work, but we were both on Match at the same time and weren't matched with each other. We think it's kind of funny.
I have a friend who met her husband on Friendster, lol. And one or two on Plenty of Fish.

@Mrs. Twine: do they have ppl with urban gardens on there?? i could be down with that! like a roof garden, that'd be neat!

@ShootingStar: i've heard of POF, but i thought ppl just used it for hookups, do ppl really date on there?
coconut / 8472 posts
@mrs. bird: Haha, well the one girl I know for sure used it had a one night stand with the guy. Then they started dating after, lol. I feel like some other people I know legitimately used it to date, but I can't remember who. Personally, I wasn't really into using a free site - if the guy can't pay $20/month for Match.com, no thanks.

@mrs. bird: I walled you.
You'd have to check it out. It's a pretty sketchy site. I just got (really, really) lucky. Which might explain why I haven't had much in the luck department since then.

@ShootingStar: Good point! I was reading along with this (I always find it fascinating) and completely agree that paying a little bit probably indicates they are more serious!
@Mrs. Bird: I have been meaning to wall you... off to go do that.

I know a friend who met her husband on j date, they've been together for almost 10 years now and have 2 kids!

I vote match.com. Plenty of fish is used as a hookup site around here.

I think my cousin met her long time BF on eharmony.
I met DH at Starbucks, haha.

I have two friends who have met their partners on Christian Mingle! My best friend has dated about 4 guys from the site? Nothing long-term has worked out though. I was the one who signed her up though haha

@mrs. bird: From what I've seen from friends, POF is usually younger people or those who just want a "friend, nothing serious" aka a F Buddy. The friends who have used a "dating" site have better adult relationships.
I met DH's cousin on MySpace..which led me to meeting DH. If that counts?

I know a few people who met and married people from my Match.com (including my brother). My younger sister met her husband on Plenty of Fish!
My other younger sister has been into Tinder lately, but I don't know that she's meeting anyone serious. She tried Match and met some people she liked but nothing that panned out.

I have two close friends that met their husbands online: one on eharmony and one on match.

Myspace! But we both weren't on myspace for that purchase, haha. I sent him a Chuck Norris joke, the rest is history.

@oliviaoblivia: hahaha we did the same thing to see if we were eharmony matches! we are also not.... I think b/c they only send X amount at a time and we were both new might have been a part of it.
pomelo / 5509 posts
OKCupid! Hahahaha.
@oliviaoblivia: LOL! Well I signed up for OKCupid about 5 months after I had broken off an engagement. I was already talking to my current DH via OKC when I got matched on there with my ex-fiancé! According to the site, ex-F and I were a better match than my current DH and I are. They do it by percentages and it said ex-F and I were a 98% match! Ummmmmm. No.

Match!
And then I found out he was the guy all my friends were trying to set me up with - one of my best friends used to babysit him when they were kids!
