Ours are about ~$6,000/year. We live in a 2300 sq ft house right outside a major city in our state, so the taxes are a little higher than in other surrounding towns. Although not as high as the town near us that has the best schools in the state!

We don't own yet, but I just asked my parents this since we are buying in the Spring and we were interested. They pay $2500 for a 1400sq ft home and it's on 3 acres.

$6000 and change for our home that we live in, and $3500 for our condo that we rent out.

Ours is about $2,400 per year. Ours just went up, it used to be about $2,100. That made me sad to see it increase! LOL

Ours are about $3000. The value of our house keeps going down, but the property taxes keep going up.

we have a 15 year (now 10-yr) tax abatement, so our taxes are about $80/month.

@MrsBrewer: We don't own yet, but my mom was just talking about her property taxes today. $4,953.28 down from $5,095.49 last year. Which is a lot considering it's a city lot - Milwaukee.

Nearly 10K for a 2400sqft house on nearly an acre in an area of the country known for its ridiculously high property taxes.

Ours is only about 3K. Property taxes are quite low in our area.
Our house dropped in property with the recession, and I had our property tax re-evaluated. It saves us about $800 every year!

@MrsBrewer: Yay Milwaukee! I think we had a WI discussion before - may have been under my old username...
DH and I live in Oak Creek right now but we'll probably end up buying in the city of Milwaukee...or West Allis. It's too expensive out in the burbs. lol.

@doxielove: For real! We live in Milwaukee, right on the border of Tosa. I think I do remember have a WI chat, maybe it was under your different user name, who knows though because I have a TERRIBLE memory! My mom lives in West Allis though and loves it!

We were at $1800 last year, but just bought a new house and are now over $4000. It includes something called a CDD fee too, which goes to the community developer.

I think about $3,500 or so. We live in a brand new home. 1600 sq ft bungalow on 50ft by 135 ft lot.
