We're thinking about taking a trip to Taiwan and the Philippines when DS is about 6 months old. I'll probably talk to the ped anyway, just curious if others did and where you went.

I havent dont this yet but I think at any age under 10 I would still talk to my pediatrician about it, they might need shots for some countries too

Yup ditto to @mrsbells. I would definitely consult with the pedi if we were going out of the country, unless maybe if it were Canada!

It wasn't under 1, but we took DD to Hong Kong at 18 months, and she didn't have to get anything special. But we went to Indonesia when she was 2 and she had to get anti-malaria and one of the hepatitis vaccines. So definitely at least give your pedi a call.

DD is 5 months and we're currently out of the country. I didn't consult with our GP as I didn't think it necessary, particularly as we're only visiting the UK and US on this trip. Now if we were traveling somewhere less developed, yes, I'd probably discuss it.
