How early would you put them to bed? An hour earlier than normal? Earlier? Just curious what others would do....he is usually in bed by 7, he was in bed at 6 tonight.
Also, send wine and chocolate and trashy mags! I am BEAT after 12 hours straight with LO and NO NAPS.

Depends on what time he woke up, but 6 sounds good!
My DD doesn't nap and she has 12 stinkin hours of awake time. She goes down between 5:45-6pm depending on how tired she is.

My LO didn't nap either today! She's 16 months old and was up from 6:45 this morning until 7:30 tonight. We were going to put her down at 7 but she was acting fine and wanted to read a couple more books. Hopefully he naps for you tomorrow! I luckily had help from DH and LO was surprisingly pleasant once we stopped trying to force her to nap.

Omg you poor thing! I've put M to bed as early as 5:45 on bad naps days, but she's never completely not napped at all! You may find that now that he is sleeping more hours at night and sleeping in more, he may be transitioning to 1 nap. Just something to look out for!

C only slept 10 minutes all day. I sat on the steps and cried. and she was totally asleep by 6:30. Sorry to hear we had rough days!

@hilsy85: I think little by little is the best approach, cold turkey might lead to over tiredness. What I did for awhile was limit the morning nap to only 30-45 minutes, so she would be tired enough for an afternoon nap. Then when she started refusing morning nap, I was able to just hold her off until after lunch. BUT, it might have just been a bad nap day for him and things could be back to normal tomorrow!

J is almost two and he has many days without naps. He's happy, just not tired. I usually try to push him to his regular bedtime so he's real good and tired and so he doesn't wake up earlier.

@hilsy85: OMG what!! Holy bananas. I'm sure this day will come for us, and I'm scared. After a month, we're FINALLY getting one longer nap instead of just one shorter one nap so I hope if this is your transition, it goes well!
ETA and I'd probably have put him down earlier if I were you! Hope he sleeps well tonight!

Oh no! Well, hate to say I've had days like that too. An hour earlier seems more than fair IMO. Hope he STTN and sleeps in late for you tomorrow!

Our oldest dropped his nap a few months ago, I guess around 3 3/4? We end up putting him down earlier as a result! At least, we do if he goes down...sometimes he'll fight bedtime for a few days in a row though.

My LO skipped his afternoon nap yesterday ( almost 13 months) so I put him to bed an hour early. .... He also woke up an hour earlier than usual today

@hilsy85: E's naps were getting crappy and he was really fighting them last week so this week we switched him to one nap. I went cold turkey and just kept him to until 12:30 the first few days and 1 after that. He slept we least 2 hours every time and he's been sleeping longer at night! He used to wake up at 6am and he's been sleeping in until 7:30! I was really scared to give up the 2 naps and I do kind of miss having 2 breaks instead of 1 but its definitely less stressful than fighting him so hard for them!

@Running Elley: I'm so glad it went so well for you! I think L is still needing 2 naps...he took 2 today and did SO WELL with nap training, so I figure we'll give it a few more weeks. I do want to get him on 1 nap by Feb though, just in terms of getting a schedule together for the spring.
