If you had your first LO early, did you have your second, (third, etc.) earlier? later? same time?
My LO was born at 34w4 days and my doctor scared me a bit last week by saying that the goal is basically just to make sure I don't have my second any earlier. I thought the goal was to make it to term but she said that's probably not a reality for me. I've been pretty anxious since she said that so I'm just trying to get some perspective on what others have experienced.

Not me, but my cousin had her first daughter at 29+5, and with the second one, she went into labor at 29+4. Her water didn't break and at the hospital they were able to stop it with drugs, but she was on hospitalized bed rest til 32 weeks. She got to go home, and ended up having baby #2 at about 34 weeks.

I went into preterm labor at 32 weeks. They were able to stop labor with meds and bed rest until 36 weeks when I had DD. There was no known cause for the preterm labor. So with DS I had progesterone injections from 15 weeks until 35/ 36 weeks to help stave off labor. It worked and DS was born on his due date at 40 weeks.

My first was 35w4d and my second was 36w3d, so almost an entire week later. I'm 34w1d now, and I'm planning on this little guy coming in the next week or two, but would be thrilled if he stayed in longer.
Are you on progesterone shots?

@LAZB: I'm starting them in a few weeks - I think I go in at 15w3d to start them. I hope your LO stays put for a few more weeks!

@kayla0416: I'm glad she was able to keep #2 cooking a bit longer with bed rest! I have a feeling I could end up there as well. We'll see, its early yet for me.

My cousin's wife had her first at 35 weeks after her water broke out of nowhere. Her second came at 38.5 weeks! Good luck, mama.

Had my first at 30w5d (totally unexplained, water broke, no other pre existing conditions). With my second I went to 40w5d.......

First baby spontaneous labour in week 36, so only just considered preemie.
Second baby was threatened preterm labour but got to almost 38 weeks before inducing!
