We just graduated to the big tub but it makes me super nervous as LO.has slipped a few times already. If you have a non-slip something, what would you recommend?
Thanks in advance!

We don't have one but I'm thinking of getting a cheap one for our bathtub.

Just got a mat at Homegoods! DS (19 months) would no longer sit and had fallen a few times. No slips with the foam mat :::knocks on wood:::

laundry basket. no joke. doesn't slip, uses less water, can stand safely(ier). and he stands the ENTIRE bath time.

@mediagirl: @littlek: we just got this one from amazon:

it was cheap ($13) and came today. first bath went well although LO was so tired that she didn't do a lot of walking around. it fits in the tub well and appears stable, so hopefully it will work out...

We used to use a bath mat but it kept getting gross under the mat. So Bee eventually switched us to bath stickers and it's been great ever since! The kids don't slip, and the mat doesn't have to be cleaned regularly.

We use the alligator non-slip mat from Ikea. It has a hole in the tail so we can hang it up when not using it. I also have the rule that he has to sit down, no standing or creeping along the tub edge. Seriously, from the bathroom, it sounds like I am training a dog, "sit down! sit down please!"

@regberadaisy: Thanks for the link! I totally missed this thread earlier. We got a mat but I will keep this in mind if the mat ends up getting gross as you all mentioned. Glad you are happy with what you got!

After having some slipping problems we got one of these..
Yes, yes. I know some may think it's super tacky, but it is fabulous. DH actually got it to try. I originally wanted one of those bath seats that suctioned to the bottom of the tub and surrounded LO, but I guess they don't make them anymore. It is actually made really well and LO just bounces off the sides if he loses his balance. I can even lay him back to wash and rinse. It also uses a smaller amount of water and keeps all of his toys in reach. And it was only $10.

We have a slip mat but I'm pretty sure I'm going to try the laundry basket in the tub trick this week because LO won't stay still In the bath and it'll at least keep him a little more contained!

@Cain13: ha! So cute! LO is 14 months so no way she will stay in that.

@sera_87: @babyjnama: what basket do you use? I tried this and thank god I was there to catch her, cause the entire basket flipped when she stood and leaned.
We have a cloth mat from target - it has fish on it. I stick it to the wall after her bath! But we have a textured tub (not enough to not slip though) so it doesn't stick, I have to turn it the short way to stick to each wall haha.

@MsLipGloss: We also stick ours to the wall after bath time and that way it drains the water and doesn't get icky underneath. When I clean the tub, I do spray some cleaner on the bottom just to clean it as well.

@T.H.O.U.: I just hang ours over the side of the tub (our shower is separate and a giant glass shower, and I am too OCD to let the mat leave suction cup marks on it!

My son is 2.5 and he still uses his infant tub, largely because it saves water, and he likes it, I think!
I was just thinking this morning that i need a solution when we go to Disney in September, and I am going to bring a bath mat we have at home, THANKS!!!!!
