What do you assume? Overly tired? Getting sick? Pure luck? 
My LO hasn't napped in over 6 months, and just went up to her room and put herself to sleep. I thought she was just up playing so I was surprised to find her napping. Of course now I'm fearing she's getting the sickness her sister has last week.

Sleeping at home I would assume getting sick unless something happened to make her really tired. Sleeping in the car is fairly common if we have to take a longer drive in the afternoon. Of course I would like to sleep in the car then too

DS will sleep in the car sometimes, but never at home if he's well.

If they ever complain they are tired and actually put themselves to bed (or go willingly with no stalling), I always assume they are coming down with something!
A short car nap can just be exhaustion from the daily activities, but actually expressing sleep needs and doing it at home is a different story!
