If your parents (parent) live alone in the house where you were raised, do they have more or less stuff than when you moved out?

My mom gets more and more minimalist every day. We used to joke about how if you couldn't find something, check the Goodwill!

More stuff. My mom shops to make her feel less lonely!! She's retired and bored.

My dad got divorced after we moved out. She took over half the stuff. But I think that's unrelated. Lol

My dad completed renovated the house the last couple months, so I'm sure he has less stuff now

More stuff...from their parents aging and passing on their stuff.

My mom has less. All three of our bedrooms as kids are now nicely done relatively empty guest rooms and her office.

My parents have always been pack racks. That trend continues now in three different properties that they own. Too much junk for me!

now they have more empty rooms to store stuff in, they take advantage of that! my old room is now the guest room and it looks really nice, the old guest room is now storage. my brother left almost everything when he moved out, so his room still has a lot of stuff in it, but my mom & i repainted it and got new bedding so it looks better now.

We moved out of the house we grew up up so they def downsized and had to get rid of a lot of things!

More but my parents literally belong on that depressing show Hoarders. I love them but they are a hot mess about stuff.

My parents are definitely packrats and seem to be headed into hoarder territory.

I'd say just as much to more stuff. They've still got our childhood mementos plus newer stuff my brother and I don't have room to store, plus all their stuff. It's interesting in this stage though because my mom especially is very into purging old books and pictures and decor and I'm in the stage where I want all that old stuff to establish our home and memories for LO. It's working out because she puts boxes in the garage and every time I'm over I take one home lol.

Basically the same stuff. They may have replaced/upgraded a few things here or there (new flat-screen TV to replace the old tube one, different couch, etc) but overall things haven't changed much.

My parents have so much stuff. I think they probably have around the same amount of stuff they had when I lived there. To be fair one of my sisters does still live with them.
DH's parents have a completely empty nest and I'd say they have very slightly less stuff in their house... but not by much lol.

More, but it's mainly kids toys for the grandchildren. They keep some of our baby stuff until we can move into a bigger house.

A lot more stuff. More expensive stuff. More room. I don't understand why 2 adults need so much space

About the same. My mom updates their home according to their lifestyle.

Definitely more. It's almost hoarding, they have multiple of lots of things.

I'd say about the same, except the basement in which my youngest sister thinks is her storage unit instead of you know paying for a real one...it bothers me ha!
