If your prenatal care was with an OB or midwife practice with multiple practitioners, how did it work? For example, at my midwife practice, you generally will see one midwife for most of your care, but whoever is on call when you go into labor is the one who delivers you. They have a monthly 'meet the midwives' night so you can meet everyone, but odds would be pretty good that whoever is on call when you deliver is not the one you've been seeing. I'm curious about other practices.

I'm also considering switching my main midwife-- I like her, but it's not like I love her, and I just found out she only works one day a week, which makes getting a good appt time kind of difficult. I'm thinking I may as well get to know someone else, too, since then I'm that much more likely to have some relationship with the midwife on call for my delivery. Not really a big deal either way, just got me thinking about how it usually works.
