I'm a SAHM and DH works. On weekends I usually wake up before both of them.... but if I don't DH will let me sleep a little while he gets LO ready for the day. Even though I always wake him up when she gets up if I'm already up.... it's nice having his help when usually I have to do it by myself every day. I consider weekends my semi break, and while I'm still obviously a mommy and taking care of LO, at least I'm not in it alone. DH knows it's hard for me every day so he doesn't seem to mind helping.

I know it doesn't exactly answer your question....

Yeah, I would expect him to take LO in the morning if I was getting ready for work and he was off. Yes, you do it out of necessity when he's not there to help out, but it would be nice if he helped when he's off. Drives me crazy how a lot of men seem to think caring for the baby is the woman's responsibility and they are doing you a favor if they do anything. My DH isn't like this, but it seems to be a general trend in our society. TWO people had a child here, buddy.

We have similar arguments He usually just throws on some sweats and takes her to daycare.

@bunnylove08: oh heck no! (to your DH's comment). Anyone getting ready for work is supposed to be baby-free in our house. Some days we both work at 8/9 am so we tag team.
However, this doesn't ALWAYS work out perfectly (see my DH... thread) but the idea is that we help each other out with baby duties. The comment he made wouldn't fly with me.

Yes. On DH's days off he is her sole caretaker. I work when he is off, so he lets me sleep in, then I get ready for work while is making breakfast for me and watching LO. He watches her the whole time I'm at work.
