My friend has a 15 month old boy and says he wakes up with a little erection sometimes.
She also said that sometimes when he gets worked up and really excited, he'll get an erection!
I don't think I can handle seeing a mini penis with an erection!

DS is a year and now and then it gets hard. It really doesn't phase me or DH. Plus its not like he's a teenager (yet) the diaper.covers it all. I would be more concerned about ducking when you take off his diaper - little boys can get some good distance when they pee!

I have a son, but as you know he's a wee little one still.
One thing that always did irk me about baby boys though is around 6 months they start grabbing their penises during diaper changes, and the 4 yr old I nannyed would play with it and wave it around lol it was kinda funny but soo wrong.

Yeah, when I taught a 3 year old preschool class, the little boys would still need help with the potty so they wouldn't have accidents. I've seen my fair share of little boy erections. It does take a little while to get used to. At first I was like "whaaat is this?!"

I was at a friend's house and her 4 year old was taking a nap on the couch. I looked up and I was like, "did not need to see that!!" I mean straight up through the blanket. I had to leave right then.

Oh my goodness, I'm afraid of having a boy for the same reason! My SIL told me stories of how her sons would play with themselves when they were little. Now I'm scared.

LOL!!! I was also afraid of the penis in general (I didn't change a single diaper for the entire first month of his life because I was so afraid of the circumcision wound) but now it doesn't faze me. Erections, however... I do get a little weirded out. I have a (fixed) boy dog who shows his pink thing every now and then so I guess I'm used to it. I just say "put that thing away!" Haha.
Although in his entire life of 2 years 4 months, I've only seen an erection maybe four or five times? Wagon Sr. may have seen it more times since he does most of the diaper changes.

O the joys to look forward to lol. Well my hubby felt weird having to clean the girl's private parts... I'm sure it'll be totally weird to see that. And they'd hate it with a passion if u bring it up when they r grown up lol.

Eh, it's no big deal, and I think if they want to talk about it when they're a little older (like 4 or 5) you just tell them it's normal and it'll go away in a minute.
LO's penis is totally his favorite bath toy.

I did not know this happens!! I have all nieces, and most of my friends have girls. This makes me so scared to have a boy, oh my gosh I think it will make me so uncomfortable! ha

I'm scared to have a boy because I don't want to have to get him circumsized. I would because of religious reasons, and I think it would be nice to have a bris..... but it will break my heart to see him in pain!

I'm totally afraid of circumcision too! I have a lot of moral issues with it, but its a religious thing for us so its going to happen if we ever have a son. Plus, DH & his family would never agree to skip it.

LOL! I got used to it after a while. But girls definitely are much easier to wipe! Boys have so many nooks and crannies!

My little boy is more apt to pee on me or the change table... LOL he likes to stand up on his change table and pee all over it.
He tries to pull his diaper down, but I only see him playing with himself when I am changing him.

i've seen them a handful of times and agree with the moms that say they're more concerned with the getting peed on when they see it.

@honeybee: Yes! Especially when the have watery poop. UGH. You have to look in every hidden part to get them cleaned up! Under, over, inside, outside. LOL

@ Banana - I always thought little girls would be harder to clean, but I literally spend 5-10 minutes on a diaper change every single time DS poops! And since he's a newborn, it's like every 2 hours at thois point. Sigh.
