Anyone have experience? I tried an IUD but my OB couldn't place it. On the pill now, but considering implanon. If you've had it, how were your periods on it?

I was on it years ago when it first came out. I was actually the first one my doctor at the time placed. I felt I gained some weight while on it but I was also in a terrible relationship and hated everything so I ate everything. Probably had nothing to do with the birth control.
It really didn't bother me once it was placed and I def forgot it was there after a couple weeks. But, it never hurt. -
I had one for about 2.5yrs when Dh and I first started living together...I didn't want to go on the pill, and it seemed like a good option. My periods stopped...oh, and I hardly had any sex drive!

@illumina: hmmm. My sex drive is already pretty low so that wouldn't be a great side effect for me
@Crisark: yeah, weight gain isn't cool but I guess it beats a pregnancy?
