The weight limit for the infant insert is 11lbs and I took it out today....LO is almost 13 lbs. I think I removed the head cushion around the same time for my other Los but LO 3 is a little more wobbly.
How long did your LO use the head support cushion in their Chicco Keyfit infant seat?

I just took ours out last week. LO is about 14lbs & 26 in (14 weeks tomorrow). He seems fine without it!

You can keep that part in until the straps need to be put in the same holes. We kept ours in for a long time with our daughter.

hmmm. I didn't know the support needed to be taken out! So once you take it out, is there just no head support whatsoever? That cant be comfortable for a very small infant!

We kept the head support in the entire time! The manual just says body support 
straps just can't go through same slot as straps

We kept it until we moved the shoulder straps to the top position. 6 months? IDK. DS is 19lbs and he still has his.

We removed the infant insert but kept the head pillow thing. LO is 4 months and about 13 1/2 lbs.

I kept it in till his head seemed too big for the insert. I liked having the cushion/pillow there for when he slept in the car seat to prevent his head from wobbling around too much!

I'm glad you posted this, I totally forgot about (maybe?) having to remove the infant insert/head rest. DS is 8 weeks, almost 12 lbs.
Do you HAVE to remove the body support at 11 lbs? Seems like he would still be pretty little wobbling around in there without it. And I think he definitely still needs the head rest, otherwise I think his head would be bobbling around like crazy.
