@ladybee: UMMM IS THAT A HPT OR OPK??
ETA: of course it's a hpt! OMG!!! Isn't this your psychic reading month?

@shutterbug: this is my predicted Cheri month!
It feels so unreal. I start blood work today through Monday. Once the first draw comes back pregnant ill believe it more.

@ladybee: how exciting to see two lines! Wahoo! Good luck with your bloodwork!

I'm so nervous. I feel like I'm imagining the whole thing. It was darker in the 3 min window and has faded which makes me feel crazy. After losing our first pregnancy and our infertility I'm afraid I've made this up and the blood work will come back not pregnant.

@ladybee: oh my goodness! Congrats! Try not to stress too much while waiting for your blood work results (easier said than done, I know).

@Suzimo: We're just getting ready for our CD 3 bloodwork so we're sort of at the same point - let me know what your results say! Hopefully they are positive!!
@ladybee: Congratulations!!
@spaniellove: I'm sorry. It can feel SO lonely! But you aren't alone! I know that sometimes it's more than you can take to even type it out or explain it. Vent when/if you need to!

@ladybee: Yay!!! Congrats!!!
@spaniellove: I'm sorry you're having a tough time right now.
I'm still in my TWW on the 3rd IUI. I can take a hpt on Friday, but am thinking that I am going to wait until Saturday. My DH is finally going to the doctor today to get his referral to the urologist. I am so happy that he is finally doing something!!!

@ladybee: WOOOHHOOOOO!!!! Congratulations!!! I will keep you in my thoughts until you get the reassurance of the bloodwork results!!!

@spaniellove: I just read your most recent post on the IVF thread. I am so sorry things aren't going quite as hoped but I am very hopeful that you will still have a successful IVF cycle. Maybe those follies just need some more time to grow into bigger, better eggs than you have ever had before!!! Thinking of you and hoping that you next monitoring visit has better results.

@ladybee: yay! congrats, love hearing good news after such a hard journey. Thinking positive thoughts for you
@spaniellove: that's the one thing I never expected - how truly HARD this can be. For me there aren't a lot of people in my life that can understand this type of discouragement, so I hope that you can find some comfort here or elsewhere.
@suzimo: ugh, I can totally relate! I'm coming up on my year mark fast and literally everyone I know has either announced a pregnancy or had a baby in the last year. One of my friends started the same time I did, except that she got pregs on her first try...while we're still struggling. It's hard. We're waiting on some test results this weekend too, good luck at your appt. - fill me in on how it goes!

@ladybee: Wow, congrats!!! Now I'm tempted to get a Cheri reading Try to keep calm (I know, easier said that done). Hoping for a great 9 months for you!
@spaniellove: Sorry to hear you're having a tough time... Feel free to vent here, we're happy to "listen".

@ladybee: I was so honored to get this AMAZING news first. I am SO SO happy for you and really think this one is going to work out, especially since you're getting a BFP so early (possibly only 10-11 dpo right?). I honestly think I was happier hearing about your BFP than my own. This is where I disagree with that blog post written yesterday. I really only wish the best for all of my friends who struggle with infertility and would never feel sad when one of them finally succeeded. Yay!

@marionberry: Thanks. I hope it's a good sign as well.
@spaniellove: I hope you are okay. Thinking of you!
@ladybee: That's awesome! Happy V day! What DPO are you?
@sweetooth: So when are you testing? With how moody I was off and on again, I tested last night at 7DPO and BFN. I know it's early but these mood swings are nuts. Maybe I'll try to hold out to Sunday. Sunday will be 11DPO.

@bluestriped bee: My wondfo on day 12 was super super light. You could barely see it. So while testing later sucks, sometimes it really takes that long on a wondfo. However a first response is much better if you have some of those.
nectarine / 2705 posts
@justdarling: I didn't know you were also a TWW buddy with @bluestriped bee and I Hang in there and good luck when you test!
@bluestriped bee: Today I'm 10DPO, but since I'm in such a good mood, and I'm taking progesterone, estrogen, and have no idea if the trigger is out of my system, I'm going to try again and wait it out until my bloodwork on Monday AM. And then, unlike last time, I'm going to try harder not to POAS after the bloodwork/during the agonizing long wait for the results phone call. Stay strong! Do you go in for bloodwork? Or only use a HPT and go in if positive?

@ineebee and @mrs.halfsie: I noticed that you are both in DC, I'm located just outside of the city in VA. If either of you are interested in some information about a specialized "yoga for fertility" class let me know. I've been attending one since last fall and I love it. Mine is ending this weekend, and I wish it would continue forever! Email me at sweetoothHB {at} gmail {dot} com if you're interested. A new session in DC just started, but I'm sure there will be more - or maybe you can join in a week late. It's a 6-week program.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@marionberry: Yeah, I am using wondfro tests so I should hold off on testing. Maybe I'll wait to Monday so that I'm 12 DPO.
@sweetooth: My doc said to call them when I get the BFP. No bloodwork post IUI, so far.
nectarine / 2705 posts
@bluestriped bee: I wonder why RE offices vary. Do they tell you when to start testing? I SOOO hope that this second IUI does the trick for us both!!!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@sweetooth: I had to go in for testing and they called me back about 3.5 hrs later with the results. I did not test out the trigger or test at all until they told me the news. Luckily I did temp so I had an idea it might be positive. It was really the right decision for me, but I think it's different for everyone. Once I got the positive hCG I peed on a lot of sticks though lol.
apricot / 452 posts
@sweetooth: It seems like very office is different. I have to POAS at 14 dpIUI (which is tomorrow) and then call for a blood test if positive. I think I am going to wait until Saturday. I don't want to get bad news and then have to go to work. I didn't test out the HGC trigger. I'm not a big fan of POAS.

Question to all (because I think people who've delt with infertility may have a slightly different perspective): I'm trying to decide whether to do the nuchal testing, aka test for down syndrome. I have to make a decision about this in the next week or two. No one wishes their baby would have down syndrome nor does anyone get excited to hear their kid has it, so I want to say that while we'd probably keep a down syndrome baby, it would certainly be devastating to us, at least at first.
The option for me is to a) take the test and know for sure one way or the other right away or b) not take the test and wait to find out when the baby comes. I've found that after dealing with infertility, I'm always assuming the bottom will fall out and something else will go wrong, so of course I'm worried about this now despite my odds being 1 in 1180. Would you want to know you had a baby with down syndrome early so you could prepare and likely stress for six months or find out at birth and then totally stress even more then?
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@sweetooth: I don't know why. They told me that testing early could result in a false positive because of the trigger shot but since it was negative yesterday, I'm sure it is out of my system already. They said I can test of 14 DPO.
apricot / 452 posts
@marionberry: I think I would take the test and want to know. I am a very type A personality and like to plan everything (which is not a good thing during this whole infertility struggle). If we were going to have a downs baby I would like to prepare for it and do as much research as possible. My sister-on-law, who went through 4 years of infertility before getting her BFP, took the test. Her baby does not have downs but she wanted to be prepared.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@marionberry: I think I'd want to know up front because it would give me 6 months to cope and come to terms with it. I'd be afraid that if I didn't do the test, and then found out at birth (when you're a ball of postpartum hormones) I wouldn't handle it as well. Of course this is coming from a non-mom non-preggo, but just my two cents.
honeydew / 7916 posts
@marionberry: We plan to get every test possible. Not because we wouldn't keep the baby, but just to prepare.

I just had to call DH a while ago and have him come home because I had what I assume was a vasovagal reaction after my injection. I was looking at the small amount of blood in the syringe, then noticed a vein ballooning up on my belly (not normal!) and then realized the lightheadedness I had all day felt like I was going to pass out or throw up. Meanwhile I was terrified that the vein was going to explode or something. You're not supposed to hit veins with subcutaneous injections but I don't have a whole lot of fat to pinch. I'm really hating IVF right now.

@marionberry: That related thread really got me thinking yesterday! I'm not sure if my feelings would be different if pregnant, but I'm pretty sure I would want to keep a downs baby, so I wouldn't see any point in the test as it would just cause more worry. Have you seen http://www.kellehampton.com ? She found out at birth that her baby has downs. Her blog is great, and her daughter looks like such a happy sweet girl.
@spaniellove: Yikes, that sounds awful Are you going into the ER? Hope you feel better soon!
honeydew / 7916 posts
@Mrs.Someone: This may sound really wrong but I figure I won't die, and if I'm not going to die I'd rather not have my cycle canceled.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@spaniellove: DH used to be a nurse. He says you need to circle the ballooned vein area with a pen. If it grows over 50% you need to go in and see the ED. Otherwise you should be fine. He did say that it means you reduced the amount your body got of the injection but I doubt that's a big deal. Just want you to be safe.
@justdarling: @mrssomeone: @shutterbug: @spaniellove: Thank you for your advice on what you're doing. We had said we weren't doing it, but I'm so type A that I almost think it may be better for me just to do it so I can either prepare or know I have nothing to worry about. This has really helped because DH won't say what he thinks I should do.
honeydew / 7916 posts
@marionberry: Please tell your DH I really appreciate his help! After icing the area, it looks more like a bad bruise over some swelling. When I look closely at the bleeding it seems like I nicked a blood vessel (it's diffused) and the swelling seems separate. Whew.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@spaniellove: I've done subQ injections before. You are not suppose to be deep enough to be anywhere near a vein. I have seen SQ injections that cause a bump, but the bump is definitely not blood. It could be a bump of what was injected. SQ is right under the skin so bumps can be normal. BTW, I'm not a nurse, though.
