@spaniellove: Okay, I clearly enjoy talking about dogs. Let me know if you want to talk about books, cooking, traveling....what else? Hard core rap? I was so surprised to read that hard core rap is your genre of choice! You and Gwenyth Paltrow.
@Sweetooth: thinking of you today and hoping it went well!
@Raintreebee: was your house hunt successful? I would love to finally have a place to call our own. Alas, home ownership is probably another year off for us.
@Marionberry: just wanted to say hi *waves*

@Happygal: Our home ownership is about a year off too, which was annoying given how much I wanted a new home to take our baby into, but oh well. And hi back! *waves*

@spaniellove: @Happygal: @Mrs.Someone: Thanks you guys It went well today and I actually had MY doctor perform the IUI. Imagine that!
@spaniellove: Hope that the migraine has subsided by now. Those are the worst. I'm so excited that you are REALLY getting a puppy! I need to get serious about getting one too What date is your birthday? Also, I know what you mean about taking breaks from talking about all of this TTC stuff. It is nice to connect with you all on other topics.
@alie: Thanks for sharing! Hello to you!
@Happygal: Charlottesville, now there's a place I haven't been to in a while. I should plan a little weekend trip there to show my husband around, and visit Monticello. I'll have to get some restaurant recommendations from you.

@Mrs.Someone: A month off from all of this sounds heavenly. I'll be headed that way if this cycle is not a success. I'm sorry to hear that you will be taking a break from acupuncture though. I know that has been therapeutic for you during all of this. Enjoy the husband and wife time!

@raintreebee: hi there! Hope all is well as you gear up for your IVF cycle. House hunting sounds fun, any potential dream homes?

@sweetooth: So happy your IUI went well today! They say third time's the charm. I really hope it is for you. What's the plan? Testing, not testing?
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Sweetooth: I love this town and could write you a good guide on where to go eat. Monticello in the spring time is really nice with the gardens in bloom. You could get really fancy and stay at the Clifton Inn. That's actually where we got engaged! Just say when....I'm already composing a little guide in my head. I seriously love to plan, even if it's for others.
We're thinking of coming up to D.C for our anniversary in May.

I love all the talk about puppies on here!!! My furbabies are my world at the moment (well, DH is too).
@Mrs.Someone: Thanks for the info on acupuncture. I think I am going to give it a shot. Our insurance doesn't cover the place that I found that specializes in fertility so this is out of pocket. I figure it is less than an IUI so I'll give it a shot. Sorry to hear that you are out this month. A month off sounds like a good plan. It really was a good thing for me.
@sweetooth: Yay for the IUI! I really hope that the third time a charm for you!

Guys, we're having a hard time deciding. So....#1 or #2? (Oh, and never mind the nose pigment with #2...it'll fill in as he gets older!)
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@spaniellove: OH. MY. GODDDDDD!! Both? Are their personalities different? Based solely on his lighter ears I say #2. But seriously, swoon!
pomelo / 5228 posts
@spaniellove: I'm not much of a dog person, but they are so adorable! I'd go for #2, also based on ears.
pear / 1974 posts
@spaniellove: omg. Take them both. Ahhhhh I can't take it the cuteness! I would go with 1 idk why exactly bc they are both so cute but I'm drawn to the first!
honeydew / 7916 posts
@Shutterbug: #1 is more interactive with other dogs and outgoing in general, #2 is more interactive with people.
honeydew / 7968 posts
Omg cuuuuuuuuuute!!! I want both! I say #1 only because he gets along better w dogs. Dogs that don't get along with other dogs get so yappy, especially small ones....
pomelo / 5000 posts
@spaniellove: both boys are super cute. They look so soft. You know my vote ; )
honeydew / 7916 posts
This is so confusing! I'm no closer to deciding.
I think the hormone crash really hit me today - wasn't expecting it to happen. I thought maybe I might feel sad about the IVF, but I'm just very numb about that and suddenly very anxious about money almost to the point of having panic attacks which is not like me at all. Normal for me is having a pretty stable mood, especially because the Topamax kind of flattens my emotions...and I'm probably struggling more now because I tapered down during IVF thinking I'd decrease my birth defect risk. Has anyone else felt strangely not like yourself after a medicated cycle?
pomelo / 5041 posts
@spaniellove: I vote #1 but pick whichever one you connect with more. So sorry you're not feeling like yourself. I hope your hormones adjust themselves quickly.
nectarine / 2433 posts
@spaniellove: Sorry about your cycle but I am really glad you have plans going forward.. and I admire your positive attitude. The puppys are too cute but #1 is my vote
@sweetooth: hope this IUI is the one for you. I am having my first IUI next week and I am super nervous about it, I just want it to work so badly
@bluestriped bee: I am really sorry about your cancelled cycle. If it was me I think I would still count it as a cycle "trying"
AFM: I am on my 3rd day of Fermera (5mg) and we are planning to do an IUI next week at some point. So far I haven't had any side effects other than a migraine today, but that could be weather or stress (work) related so I'm not sure.
honeydew / 7916 posts
@mrswin: Hope you're feeling better today! Don't know what the weather was like where you are but it's been a little weird so maybe it was weather related? FX for your IUI next week!

I'm thinking of doing the RESOLVE Walk of Hope in DC this June:
http://familybuilding.resolve.org/site/PageServer?pagename=WOH2011_splash
Obviously I don't live in DC but would go even for a short event - RESOLVE has a lot of great IF resources and their online articles have been so helpful for me to share with family when I had no other way to explain things. They don't seem to have the details of the event up yet but if anyone wants to form a team it could be a lot of fun!
ETA...thanks to Google...the date does seem to be up here:

Phew! HB was down and I hadn't been able to see what was going on since yesterday afternoon. I'm back on the thread and there are pictures of PUPPIES! The best thing EVER!!!
@Shutterbug: Thank you!
@marionberry: I really do hope that third time's a charm! I always have my beta blood test at the end of a cycle, so I don't really like to torture myself with POAS. However, the last two cycles I couldn't wait until the results. So we'll see how I do this time around. But hopefully I can wait the two weeks out and just keep busy. Maybe I should have my husband hide the wondfo strips
@Happygal: We will definitely have to trade some details on our recommendations for DC and Charlottesville! My email is sweetoothhb {at} gmail {dot} com
@justdarling: Thank you! And good luck with the acupuncture. I think it helps to mix things up a bit, so if you feel that's a good thing for you, then go for it!
nectarine / 2705 posts
@spaniellove: Oh my! Thank you SO much for posting those adorable pictures of the puppies. I don't know how you decide between the two. Just keep in mind your original goal of "spark and sass". Too cute!
I'd be interested in participating in that Resolve Walk of Hope. Let's discuss!

@mrswin: Thank you! I hope your first IUI next week is all that you need to get your BFP!
honeydew / 7916 posts
@sweetooth: Awesome! We've already committed to going down there that weekend - the next day is our anniversary so we're going to stay in Alexandria with the dogs. (Molly and Linus, eeeeee!) It would be so cool to walk as a team!
nectarine / 2705 posts
@spaniellove: Let's definitely keep in touch: sweetoothhb {at} gmail {dot} com Is Linus the name you chose already? Or do you already have two dogs?
Is anyone else interested? Should we start a new thread for this?
honeydew / 7916 posts
@sweetooth: Yes, let's! Linus is the new puppy
If anyone else is interested, let's put together a team!
pomelo / 5228 posts
@spaniellove: Sad that the walk isn't in the other Washington That would be awesome if several of you walked together!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@sweetooth: Ya it was the hardest thing ever for me to wait until the beta to test but I just really didn't want to see a BFN. I really recommend it to anyone that can hold out. And having your hubby hide the wondfos isn't a bad idea either!
@spaniellove: If we could afford it I would love to go. I used to live in DC actually and miss it lots. Plus I'd love to stand up for infertility. Good for you and @sweettooth: for going!

5DPO and I'm totally feeling pinchy/sharp cramps on my lower left side. Trying not to read too much into it but I did O from my left side...
pomelo / 5041 posts
@MrsCB: That's totally what happened to me! I really hope it's implantation for you!! I ovulated from my left too and had left pains.
honeydew / 7968 posts
@marionberry: i actually was the opposite. i didn't want to get so disappointed by the beta, i just had to test. to prepare myself, so i told myself.
@MrsCB: good luck!!!! sending you some positive vibes.

@Happygal: @sweetooth: Oh where to begin. We are in our mid thirties and never owned anything in our lives. Because my job provides an apartment in the city, we have been fortunate enough to rent a lovely lake house. Our landlord put it up for sale, and we reached a deal. Unfortunately, the house inspection did not go well, and we can't decide what to do about it. I am hoping we will decide this weekend because I can't keep going back and forth on the decision while being pumped full of hormones next week!

@spaniellove: @sweetooth: The DC walk sounds really cool. I would love to try to go. I live in NYC and have many DC friends. I may have to go to a work conference then but will keep you updated!

I am so annoyed right now. DH LOST my wondfo tests. He cleaned up the counter a few says ago and doesnt remember touching them. But I'm positive I never moved them off the counter.
I was planning to start testing tomorrow. I really wanted to test out the trigger so I don't think I've got a real positive like last month. Now it's too late to order more. My only alternative is to spend a fortune on drug store tests, or wait for the beta. I will be an anxious mess if I have to wait for the beta.
Ugh. He's done this type of thing so many times. We tore apart the house looking for them. The only thing I can figure is he must've accidentally thrown them away.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@MrsCB: ugh that sucks! Could you do amazon 2 day shipping and use dollar store tests for the weekend?
coconut / 8472 posts
@Shutterbug: None of the dollar stores around here ever have them in stock. There used to be one that had them, but it went out of business. I made him drive me down the street to CVS so I could spend $38 on 5 FRERs.
