@kentuckygirl: Hi there! Thanks for dropping by and saying hello! Good idea on the avatar. I still haven't told many people which site I enjoy connecting with people on. But if I did, I think my screen name might give me away.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the support group! I shed many tears in my fertility yoga group, I think it's a great place to be able to let go of some of the emotion of all of this. I wish we could all meet too - but I'm so thankful for this place that we do have to "gather".

Hey guys just popping in. I'm 9dpo and I've started testing on frers since DH made my cheapie tests disappear. I've had lines show up after the test dries, which I think is weird for frers. Oh well, going to keep testing until lines start showing up within the time limit or AF shows.
And as I know a lot of you saw, I got a job yesterday! Such a relief. I feel so much happier and relaxed. We were fine financially but it was rough not know how conservative to be or what was going to happen. It is starting out as contract at first but it puts us in such a better position either way. And I feel like I can get pregnant with no guilt. And of course happy and relaxed is much more conducive to baby making than stress. Hopefully I'll have more good updates this week :-D.

@MrsCB: yay on both fronts! I think lines at all is moving in the right direction! I hope they get darker and darker! When do you start the new job?

@sweetooth: Just popping in. How is your TWW going? When do you test?

@Shutterbug: I start on Monday if the background check gets done in time. Otherwise it'll be the following Monday. BTW it's in the same city you work in, we should do lunch some time :-).

@MrsCB: yay! Glad you found something where you wanted. We should definitely do lunch some time!

Ok, here is my update. I'm really thinking about having a TTC break... for a couple months. I really want to leave my job and move back home. Or at least closer to home.
I know it's been said that I should never put my life on hold for TTC or finding a job but I'm beginning to think my work life will be even more frustrating if I do get pregnant and have to stay at my current job for 9 more months. I want to leave my job now. I can't quit because we depend on my income. My job is just driving bonkers. I don't feel appreciated. One of my coworkers annoys the crap out of me. He stresses me out because he doesn't think things through and I end up having to remind him to do this or do that. It's more work keeping up with him. I feel like I am baby sitting him and he is more senior than me. I don't even feel like my boss has my back if I talked to her about it. She is just off sometimes. I have had red flags go off. Something's that have been off-putting with her interaction with me and my group.
So with all of that, a little part of me thinks I will lose all the IF progress. With the 2 completed IUIs and the meds and the acupuncture appt.
Then there's the idea of job hunting taking more than 6 months and me having to suffer (ok a little dramatic) at work for that long... When I could be TTC. It will be great if I get a job quickly but I think I might regret my decision to stop TTC if job hunting takes a while.
Yeah, I want to stop TTC but only because I want get a new job.
Hope you all are doing well.

@MrsCB: I'm so glad things worked out for you and you found a job you like. Persistence pays off! It sounds like a good position too, with it starting as contract. That way you can really make the call if it's a right fit for you too. Enjoy your final week before you start the new job!

@bluestriped bee: Thanks for checking in! I'm only 6 days past my IUI, so there's not much to report. My skin is looking better than it has in a really long time, so if that's a sign that I'm pregnant then I'll take it! I never seem to have any signs that indicate pregnancy, so I'm just trying to hold out until next week.
I think you should get the process started with looking for a new job. It will be a good distraction no matter what. And maybe you still try to conceive on your own, without medical intervention? It's hard to decide on everything, but maybe you let all of the variables decide for you, you know? Start the search, and if a job opportunity is too good to pass up, that will guide you to your next decision. Wishing you luck

@Shutterbug: haha well my DH would probably want to kill me if I tried to convince him to go searching out HPT's in the DR! I think I am going to leave them at home though so that I can just enjoy my vacation, my beta is the morning after I get back.
@MrsCB: I hope the lines start showing up in the tome frame and this cycle is a BFP. Congrats on the new job!
@bluestriped bee: If it were me I would look for a new job if the current one is making you unhappy and continue TTC in whatever way you decide. Although I am not religious I do believe that the timing will work itself out.
@sweetooth: Clear skin as a symptom would be awesome! Have my fingers and toes crossed for you

@MrsCB: I see it! So exciting! When did your trigger stop showing up? Hope this is it for you
@sweetooth: That would be an awesome sign! Fingers crossed!
@bluestriped bee: Sorry to hear your work situation is so frustrating. I definitely think you should start looking for something new (and I agree to just keep TTC on your own, things will work out). One thing to consider, your stress at work could be impeding TTC too.
nectarine / 2705 posts
@MrsCB: eeeee! I totally see a line! And you already tested out your trigger, right?
@mrswin: I think just enjoying your vacation is the smart move. No one needs the anxiety of a HPT at the end of a relaxing vacation! Even if it's positive (which I hope it is for you!), one good thing at a time. Vacation bliss, then a BFP when you get home!
@mrswin: @Mrs.Someone: I think after this long fertility journey, I deserve clear skin as a symptom We'll see. For now, today is a good day and I'm taking them as I get them!

@Mrs.Someone: @sweetooth: yes already tested out the trigger, it pretty much never showed up within the time limit on the frers when I started at 5DPO. I had really faint lines when they dried. This morning's showed up right away.
And check this out!

@MrsCB: AAAAAHHHH!!!! Oh my gosh! How exciting! Do you have a beta blood test scheduled? I am SOOO excited for you! Holy cow - that has to be the most awesome feeling to see that word pop up right away!!!

@sweetooth: Scheduled for monday! My first day of work, lol. Luckily the clinic and the new job aren't far from each other and I can go early before work.

@MrsCB: That. Is. Awesome!!! So exciting to see that word pop up. Sticky baby dust is coming your way. Remind me what you were doing this cycle.

@MrsCB: Congratulations!! So exciting I haven't been able to keep up with the boards as much as I would like to the past few weeks -- remind me, what was your protocol this month? Clomid, IUI, something else? Regardless, I'm so happy to see a POSITIVE!
As for me, we have a follow up meeting with the RE this afternoon to talk about what our next steps will be, since Clomid on its own doesn't seem to be doing the trick.

Thanks so much everyone. I'm a little overwhelmed at the moment! I was seriously bawling when I saw the line come up in under 6 minutes. .
@Shutterbug: no problem! Too many threads, haha.
@alie: I was on 7.5mg femara and 75iu of gonal-f with timed intercourse. We had 2 good follicles so there's a moderate chance it's twins!

@MrsCB: OMG this is so exciting! Sending you wishes for a sticky baby and a H&H 9 months!! This might be your best week ever!

@MrsCB: You are having the best week ever!!! Congrats on the new job and the BFP!!! I love seeing graduates from this thread!!!
@alie: Good luck on your RE meeting this afternoon.
@bluestriped bee: Taking time off to find a new job sounds like a good plan. I totally relate to being in a job that is so frustrating.
AFM: It looks like we will be taking a longer break from TTC than I had anticipated. We are meeting with a few IVF clinics next week to decide where we want to go, but we probably will not start until July. I just got offered a new job, and as much as I hate to put off TTC because of a job, I am the main income earner in our family and I need to have a decent maternity leave. So if we put off TTC until July and get a BFP our first cycle, I will have been at my job for a year, it all works out. I am really excited about this new job since I really hate my current job. I will stick around here, but probably not as much once I start the new job and actually have to work during the day!
honeydew / 7916 posts
@bluestriped bee: It sounds like your job is really stressing you out right now, and it's understandable if you feel like you just can't handle more than one major thing on your plate at a time. Don't worry about "losing progress" with TTC...what matters right now is getting to a happy place and taking care of yourself.

I'm handing in the paperwork this afternoon to request my records and parting ways with them for good. Somehow I've come across a high FSH/low AMH forum where a large number of the posters are patients of the clinic I'm switching to, which has been really helpful. It looks like their IVF lab (which was destroyed by a fire recently) won't be up and running again until July, so I know already that mini-IVF is not an option for us until then because they're using another clinic for now and I don't like that idea.
I do wish I'd done all of this reading before starting IVF - I would have made the extra effort to find the right clinic for my situation and I would have been more vocal about my concerns instead of being a "good patient" and pretending I trusted the doctors. But, at least I know now.

Hi ladies, just wanted to pop on here. I'm new to the boards. Background: been TTC since Dec. 2011, with one loss in March 2012. (No bfps since.) Just started seeing fertility specialist and getting stuff done. DHs SA is pretty good, all my stuff is good so far. Just had HSG on Monday (OUCH!) Going back Friday for follicle scan and CM testing.
MrsCB, congrats on your wonderful news
pomelo / 5228 posts
@spaniellove: You know the phrase, "hindsight is 20/20". What matters is you're advocating for yourself now! BTW, what is mini-IVF?
@BB@TheSwissWifeStyle: Welcome! I hope your stay here is short
honeydew / 7916 posts
@BB@TheSwissWifeStyle: Welcome! I hope your testing brings you helpful answers.
@Mrs.Someone: It's basically low dose stims (often Clomid and Menopur) combined with the traditional retrieval and transfer. The success rate isn't as high, but for some groups like those with DOR, high dose stims don't work and can damage egg quality. So with mini-IVF you pay less because you're on less medication and presumably going to retrieve and transfer eggs/embryos. Who knows, maybe it's not for me but it's worth asking!

@Mrscb: What fabulous news!!! Another graduate! Congratulations!!! How many dpo are you now?
coconut / 8472 posts
@marionberry: Thanks! 10DPO. I'm feeling really good about it this time since it came up positive so early. Last time when I had the CP I had tons of spotting and didn't see a positive until around 15 or 16DPO.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@MrsCB: Well I was thinking maybe it's twins because you're getting a positive on the CBED so early. I got one on 13dpo but never tested before that though so I really don't have much to go on. Your beta will give you an answer to that though most likely. So very happy for you!

Well it looks like our next move is going to be IUI with Letrozole and Ovidrel. My RE also mentioned IVF, but besides the fact that we can't afford it at the moment, we're not really willing to consider it just yet - not without trying IUI first. Since I pay for everything completely out-of-pocket, each IUI cycle (including all monitoring, meds, the procedure, etc.) will be about $1300-1500.
So now we just have to decide what to do when - assuming this cycle is a bust (in the tww right now), we could do one last Clomid cycle next month, or go straight into IUI, or take a month off. I can't decide what I want to do! I guess I have almost two weeks to make up my mind. I'm leaning toward either taking the month off completely or just going straight to IUI. I don't really see any point in trying a 4th Clomid cycle.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@alie: I might take a month off or go straight to IUI. I think isn't there something they say about continued use of Clomid? Our IUI was totally out of pocket too so I feel you on that one, but it worked for us! Here's to hoping it works for you too!
kiwi / 526 posts
@marionberry: Thanks! I know I've also read something, somewhere, about continued use of Clomid being a problem. And if it's hasn't done anything yet, I don't really see the point of taking it again "just because".
Now I just have to decide if I'm brave enough to do my trigger shot myself, or if I should just let my husband do it!

So I had my RE appointment today! He was so nice, and the place was really nice too. They have an attached mind & body center with social workers, acupuncture, yoga and classes geared specifically toward going through fertility treatments.
The RE said he's confident that I'm ovulating, and he oohed and aahed over my charts, calling them "textbook" which made me feel better! He also didn't seem too concerned with my low progesterone results and said that Clomid would help with that (if I take that route).
The next step is all the tests: CD 3 bw and U/S, genetic bw, HSG (which I'm terrified about) and SA for DH. Today I'm 2DPO so this will all be in the next couple weeks and then once all the tests are done we'll meet again to go over the results. I'm feeling excited again!
ETA: Oh, and the best part is that everything is covered by insurance. I only had a $20 co-pay. I'm very aware of how lucky I am in that regard!
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@alie: I always hear that a treatment is most likely to work within the first three months. So I think after 3 cycles of Clomid it's probably a good time to move on to the next thing. If you can do your own trigger shot than you're much braver than me! I'd for sure make DH do it because I'm a wimp
