    @MrsCastro: Just wanted to check-in with you and see how your call went on Monday! Hope you are doing well and got some good information!

    @kentuckygirl: Thank you! Will do!

    Anyone else not relate at all to the thread about avoiding TTC in March/April in order to not have a holiday baby? I know that the thread has good intentions, but it just highlights the difference between our experiences and those of the more fertile. Here I am doing IVF in March since I refuse to wait any longer for the perfect time and would be over the moon to have a December baby.

    @raintreebee: Yes, I was just thinking about this! I've learned that baby making never goes according to plans...

    @raintreebee: yes! I foolishly waited til April last year to start TTC because I didn't want a Christmas baby. Now a year later I'd be thrilled with a baby born ON Christmas! Haha, how silly it seems now - that I thought I had any control over that.

    @raintreebee: That is so wonderful to hear about your follicles! Just think - the injections are almost over and you'll get to hear about your embryos very very soon. You're almost there! And about the holiday baby thread - I was just telling DH about that, I think last night. It was part of a larger frustration I had about parents who had an easy time getting pregnant saying "oh no, I'd never be okay with anything but a perfectly healthy child" and wanting it to happen on the perfect timeline. By the time you've gone through years of infertility and countless treatments, chances are you've let go of a lot of things and accepted that the perfect child is the one that belongs to you.

    @raintreebee: I totally do not relate as well about not wanting to try during March or April. I am on my first cycle of clomid this month and I had a very brief thought that this may not be the best timing to get pregnant because I have a big family trip planned for Hawaii in November. I then laughed at myself for even having this thought, like I have control over any of this. If I have learned anything it's that life happens when you are busy making plans. Good luck with the ER:)

    @raintreebee: I never would've avoided March/April (in fact last April is the first month we started trying) to avoid a holiday baby. After all of the infertility stuff I just kept begging God for a healthy baby and swore I wouldn't care if it was a boy or girl if I got one. Well I got pregnant and when I worry I won't have the sex I'm hoping for, I remind myself that all I wanted was a healthy baby and I let it go. Sometimes infertility helps us all be so much less selfish or self-centered.

    I definitely can't relate to avoiding certain months in ttc... I feel like if I skip a month, I might miss my fate! Although I do always calculate the estimated due date every. single. month. and think about what will be going on then, etc.

    pomelo / 5000 posts

    I don't understand avoiding certain months. I think all months have pros/cons for when you have the baby.....I guess May in Virginia could be really nice, but the thought of being all snuggly with a new babe in the winter is nice as well. We just want a baby!

    @Alie: I've done this a couple of times. I even thought I was pregnant one time and looked at an online due date club. I was excited to make friends with the women and started thinking about my introduction to the group.

    I also feel jealous of people who can so easily get pregnant that they can actually say, "Oh, we'll just wait for a few more months," and be confident in knowing they'll get pregnant later on. I want to laugh Cruella de Vil style and say, "oh hoho, just you wait and see!" But the truth is some women are fertile like that and can plan their pregnancies very easily.

    My husband is a December 16 baby and my sister is a December 23 baby and there was always enough love to go around. I'm certainly not skipping any months until I am pregnant.

    The insanity of this roller coaster never ends. You guys, I actually saw two lines this week. TWO LINES! I've NEVER SEEN TWO LINES! And so I just held my breath until the blood test this morning. It has been 20 months of stark white pee sticks, so I had every right to be cautiously optimistic for a few days. Even talk to my belly some.

    So I just got the call, after waiting all fricken day...I swear, 7:30am bloodwork and 4pm results are just mean. And my beta was only 46.5. They want to see it at least around 100. I go back in on Monday to see if I can remain cautiously optimistic, or dive into the deep dark hole that I visit every month.

    Think REALLY positive thoughts for me you guys - I could use them right now. I thought this TWW was hard? These next 4 days are going to feel like an eternity.

    @sweetooth: OMG, good luck with the next beta! I was wondering how your TWW was going, but didn't want to ask in case it wasn't so good. How many DPO are you?

    nectarine / 2705 posts

    @justdarling: thank you - I know, I want to be happy about the 2 lines...but now with the bloodwork, the real results, I'm feeling a little deflated.

    @MrsCB: I've been kind of holding my breath this week. I've been dreaming about joining you on the November boards. Today is 14 days after my IUI.

    @sweetooth: 46.5 is positive!!!! This is good, really good! Hoping so much for you that Monday is awesome!

  17. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

    @sweetooth: I think 46 is just fine for 14DPO. It's not like it's 5 (like I had with my CP). What really matter is that it's doubling. I can't believe they're making you wait 4 days to get another beta.

    In the mean time, remind yourself that right now you're pregnant :). Keep taking tests if it helps you feel better. The day before my first beta I took another FRER and it made me feel better to see a significantly darker line than I got a few days before.

    I'll have my fingers crossed that you can come join us on the November board!

    @sweetooth: Wow, 2 lines, thats awesome! I'm thinking positive thoughts for you, but I think at 14dpo that should be good. Check out http://www.betabase.info (its not working right now, but maybe it will be later). It gives you a good range of HCG by DPO. And I can't believe you have to wait so long!

    @spaniellove: Thank you

    @MrsCB: I'm googling a little too much right now to try and find more instances of 46.5 resulting in a full-term pregnancy. I thought I'd have another beta on Saturday, I'm not sure why I have to wait until Monday. I was so stunned on my call this afternoon, that I could barely ask any questions. Maybe I'll call again tomorrow AM and see if I can go in on Saturday. She said that the pregnancy tests will still show HCG, because I have it in my system now. But the blood test is the only real information I can go off of.

    @MrsCB: @Mrs. Jacks: You're so right I'm pregnant - but not ready to tell anyone but my HB friends that can support me and understand if I flip out on Monday.

    nectarine / 2705 posts

    @Mrs.Someone: thank you! And thanks for that site - I'll definitely check it out. It doesn't seem to load yet. I'm also convinced that I need to call back and see if I can get in sooner.

    @Shutterbug: thank you

  23. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

    @sweetooth: If it was me, I'd probably call and ask about going in on Saturday. But I'm annoying like that, haha. For me, doing the tests helped because it showed me hcg was still in my system and that it seemed to be increasing. When I had a CP it was out pretty quickly.

    I've been doing a TON of research on hcg, and I really don't think your number alone is anything to worry about. If it doesn't double appropriately, then yeah that's cause for concern. But hcg of 46 at 14DPO seems to be exactly in the range of normal.

    TBH, I think your doctor's office is needlessly stressing you out. It seems like another draw 2 days later would give enough info tonput your mind at ease. But I guess they really want to give it time to go up :-/.

    @Mrs.Someone: I haven't been able to get betabase to work for over a week :-S. I keep trying to find out if my hcg indicates singleton or twins, lol.

  25. sweetooth

    nectarine / 2705 posts

    @MrsCB: thanks for sharing the research you have done I did send an email to my nurse (sometimes I get quicker responses via email than I do on the phone) to see if I can go in on Saturday. We'll see what she says, but maybe you're right. Waiting until Monday would give it more time to go up.

    For now, my mantra is I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. (said while clicking my heels and traveling to the yellow brick road

    @raintreebee: Thinking good thoughts for you! And as far as that other thread is concerned, it definitely illustrates the difference between those that don't have to struggle to get pregnant, and those of us that do. I will be ecstatic whenever I get my BFP and delivering a healthy baby any of the 12 months in the year is my goal

  28. Mrs.Someone

    pomelo / 5228 posts

    @sweetooth: Keep telling yourself you just GOT your BFP! There is definitely something in there Remember how Circle + Bloom has you "seeing" what you want to be true. And maybe see if they are willing to check your progesterone too? There is someone on here who had really low HCG (around 15) twice and got put on it, went on to have healthy kids.

    @sweetooth: omg congrats! all my fingers and toes are crossed that number keeps going up and up

  30. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

    @sweetooth: Mine was only 36 at 12dpo and went all the way up to 80-something the second one. My RE said all that mattered was that my second number went up at least 150%. Don't google the beta numbers. It means nothing and you could've had a late implantation. Oh I'm so excited for you!!! I really hope this baby sticks. Congratulations!!!

  33. ShootingStar

    @marionberry: 202 at 15dpo and 474 at 17dpo. I'm thinking its probably a singleton?

  34. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

    @MrsCB: I don't think so about twins. With your numbers it just puts you at an early implantation (around day 4-5 probably) but you never know!!

    @MrsCB: Just popping in to offer a comparison: my hCG was 363 at 14dpo and although the nurse who called with my results said "now let's just hope it's not twins!" (which is totally presumptuous and rude, BTW), I just have one in there Good luck either way!

    @marionberry: thank you! And thanks for sharing your numbers. I know we're all different but it's helpful to hear about other low numbers turning into successful pregnancies.

    @Grace: thank you it really is awesome

    @derevival: thank you! I do hope that I can confirm this to be a success story next week :)@

    Suzimo: thank you and it totally helps to know that I have people rooting for me

    I just heard back from my nurse. They don't do the HCG test on the weekend, so I have to wait until Monday. Here's hoping for a speedy weekend, and for now, I'm still going to enjoy my positive beta from yesterday. And talk with my belly everyday to tell it to produce some double numbers on Monday.
