Does anyone invite daycare (or school) friends to their kid's parties?
Is it only if you're really friendly with the parents? I noticed today that there's a little girl that M is really close with. The teachers are always telling us stories of the two of them. And today when daddy put her down the two of them immediately crawled to each other and did this cheek to cheek hugging thing. It was SO sweet!

We are planning on inviting B's classmates. I figure it's a good way to meet parents that we have something in common with.

We are going to invite the kids in his class (he's turning 2) but I wouldn't expect any of them to come. I don't know any of their parents or anything.

I've invited the kids they are buddies with. We were new to the area and I thought it was a good way to meet other parents and it has really worked out.

We didn't do anything when LO turned 1, but actually this year for his second birthday in a month, we're doing a joint b-day picnic with his two daycare buddies (it's 3 kids to one teacher, and all three of our boys are April birthdays, and they're BFFs). We never hung out when our kids were little, but we've started to do playdates in the last 5 months or so, and we've gotten very friendly with the other parents. As LO has gotten older, we've also gotten to be friends with other daycare parents, so we're all looking forward to inviting all the daycare kids, plus our individual sets of non-daycare friends and family.

Not at this age. I feel like since they don't have real friends at this age, it's not worth it. If I got an invite to a birthday party for one of the kids at her daycare, I'd feel weird about it. I've never met some of the parents (I've waved or said hello to just the few I've ever SEEN) so if they invited Megan (meaning ME) to a party, it would be weird.

charlie's daycare is really small, so we had a party for him at his daycare last year with just his daycare friends. if it were a larger daycare, i would only invite those he's closest to.
we get invited to a lot of daycare parties (kids from last year and this year), and i've seen parents do both. invite the whole daycare or only invite the kids/parents they're closest to.

@mediagirl: yea that was husband's response. He said for her 2nd if the little girl is still around and they're still BFFs then we invite her.
