I'm so excited for the new season tonight! Is anyone else watching?

Maybe. I caught a few episodes over the weekend (most I've ever watched) and they kept playing and playing the commercial for the new season. Maybe I'll catch it.

I got suckered into a marathon this weekend and I am so intrigued by the Duggars.

Yep. I have a love/hate relationship with the show. Everything is SO staged, but their family is really interesting.

But I still find the show entertaining.

@Arden: I totally agree! I think 19 kids and counting is the only reality show I watch with any sort of regularity so it bothers me more than if I watched other shows too.

this makes me wish i had cable!!! i looooove the duggars! well, i did until i saw one of the new husbands wearing a shirt that made me all ragey. i appreciate that the duggars do their thing, but they let other ppl do their own thing and don't seem to have a desire to change others to their own ways, but his shirt made his views very clear about his desire to change other's views. if i could, i'd still watch it though! i wonder if i could stream it....

I really like the duggar family. I'm not too sure how I feel about Ben and Jessa's relationship. Maybe I'll change my mind once this season starts.

I used to find it harmless entertainment, even though I knew that the Duggars and I do not share a lot of beliefs. However, when I learned that the eldest moved to DC to be a lobbyist for the Family Research Council, I stopped watching. The Southern Poverty Law Center classified the FRC as an anti-gay hate group. Made me sad that the eldest of a family that appears to be so loving could have a job dedicated to hating others -- including asserting that gays are more likely to be pedophiles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_Research_Council

i really respected that they could live their lives and make choices that felt right to them while respecting other's right to do the same, but i guess not everyone in their family feels that way. is he still on they show?

I thought last night's episode was all over the place. It bothers me how much they *seem* to have a "live and let live" mentality, but their extremely strict beliefs do not allow room for that. I also hate how they frame the decision to only hold hands and wait until marriage for their first kiss up to the couple. They really don't have a choice in the matter. I couldn't imagine how Jim Bob and Michelle would react if the couple chose to kiss before marriage.
I'm liking Jessa less and less. Ben acts like a dud. I think Derick will be a good influence on Jill. Jana is my favorite, but she always looks so sad. I want her to escape!

@TemperanceBrennan: I agree! I don't keep up with the show much, I just watch if I catch a marathon. I do think it's funny how they are "allowed to choose their limitations and dating rules" yet, each kid has chosen the exact same rules! I read a really interesting article on their lives actually. I won't post it because I'm scared of what will happen to this thread. We all know what happened with the last thread about the duggars! LOL!

I watch sometimes out of morbid curiosity - they're from my hometown. I will watch the wedding since my parents and aunt and uncle attended.... I'm guessing it will be the season finale? Or maybe the baby news will be?
