I have tried to avoid buying this, but at 21 weeks with my belly protruding, but still not big enough for maternity pants I think I have to get a bella band. For those of you hat bought it was it worth it? Its almost $30!! Are there any cheaper brands that are just as good?

I can't believe you're just going through this at 21 weeks! I'm 13 and had to switch pants 5 weeks ago!!! I hated the bella band. I returned mine. There was something so strange to me about walking around with my pants unzipped and unbuttoned.

I hated mine too, but I really tried to love it. I wore mine for 3 weeks or so, but it just kept rolling up. It's totally useless. Just buy the over-the-belly pants.

I got a Beband from Target. I forget how much it was, but I think it's under 20?

I got the beband from target too and for me it was completely worth it. I started wearing it at like 9 weeks though.

I got the original Bella Band and loved it. I used it a LOT and never had problems with it rolling up. It just looked like I was wearing a layering tank top underneath my clothes.

I really like mine, and have gotten a lot of use out of it. I started wearing it around week 10 and still use it at week 21. I don't remember which website I used, but I got 2 for 30$ and to me it was worth it. Just hunt around on the internet and you should be able to find a deal.

@junebugmama: well for the last several weeks I have been using an elastic band to extend my waist bands and only wear my low rise pants. My bump is not that big so I've been able to get away with just the elastic band for now, but its getting really uncomfortable now lol

I bought 2 during my first tri when I was getting too big for my regular jeans and I hated them. I ended up just getting some maternity jeans from motherhood and even though they have only now started fitting well (at 23 weeks) they are WAY more comfortable than having that tight band around pants that have to stay unbuttoned.

@mrsbells - good for you! My Mom said she made it to 24 weeks before she had to wear maternity pants. I guess some women are just built that way! I have been wearing my maternity pants and every once in a while wear the belly band I bought from Target. It will do for my work pants I want to wear when I'm onsite in a couple of weeks. I fold it over because my belly is no where near ready for it to come over it yet. The Target one is definitely cheaper.
Oh...and get the black one. Just take my advice. Don't get the tan one. That was a mistake.

I got the BeBand from target, it was $16 and while it isn't working out that great for me ive heard it works for plenty people so maybe im just weird lol.

I think at 21 weeks I would just go for maternity pants instead. I got the Target one for 20 or so dollars and wore it from 15-22 weeks. I definitely did not love it, but found it necessary early on as my work pants stopped zipping. I hate how tighter clothes feel, so it just wasn't my style.

I really hate them! Every time I sit down and stand up, there's a horrible moment where everyone see's my unbuttoned pants and undies so I have to adjust quickly.

I didn't like it. My pants always fell down.
I would just go ahead with maternity pants. The earlier you get them the more wear you get out of them.

I never bought one, the idea of walking around with my pants undone (even with a piece of fabric to cover the open-ness). I just went straight to maternity pants (I had to switch at 10 weeks). I can't imagine going back to regular pants now!

@HeatherlovesKenny: That is my problem! Everytime I sit down and get up it either rolls down too far or it slides up and I always have this embarrassing moment when I have to readjust it to where it needs to be.

My Mom actually made me a belly band that I liked much better than the Bella Band. She made it much wider than the store bought ones, and I felt like it covered me up a lot better.

I misplaced my band from Motherhood maternity and I am sad. I have also somehow misplaced my longer ones that I got off etsy. Time to do some laundry and sort things out!

My MIL got me one after I told her I'd never use it. It's unopened in my closet. PM me if anyone wants it. I think it's white.

I got one and it didn't work very well for me. I guess it must depend on your body shape/figure, but for me my pants would slip out from under it, and then sometimes the top of the band would roll down. So annoying! I just ended up with mat pants!

I didn't like it, but I found that it helped keep some of my low rise pants from showing too much and at the end when my belly was so big it kept me a bit more covered.
I'm wearing it again with my crappy Motherhood jeans to keep them up. Man I hate those jeans!

I bought two Bella Bands, one navy and one brown, thinking I would wear them constantly. I think I wore them once each, I never got into them and just went to maternity jeans.

I'm 30 weeks and I alternate between elastic done up jeans and sweats. I'm trying to avoid buying maternity clothes for as long as possible, and at this rate hopefully at all. I also have one skirt that I wear a decent amount.

HECK. YES! I started wearing mine around like 25 weeks and wore them all the way to the end. I wore one to the hospital for my c-section. I had the original Bella Band brand in black and white. Seriously used them every day that I wasnt in a dress

I ended up ordering the bella band yesterday! I bought the New & improved one which has the silicone strip so it doesnt move as much
I decided to buy it because I really dont think I will ever buy real maternity pants, especially since my bump is so small I dont want ot have to pay for extra long pants [I'm tall] that are gonna be so big. -
I used bella bands for both kids through the entire pregnancy. They worked well for me. I never had to buy maternity pants.

@Mrsbells: thats the one I had and mine never rolled. I also had a small bump all the way to the end so I got a ton of use out of it. One hint - I did end up buying 2 pairs of maternity jeans from H&M. They were super cheap and REALLY long. Worth a shot for you. I hated the over the belly panel though, I always rolled it down

Just to update... I received my bella band in the mail yesterday so today is the first day of me wearing it. The good thing is thanks to the silicone strip the band doesnt move at all whether I sit stand or walk, I really dont have to adjust it at all and ti feels very comfortable so far!
