We have a bakery right across the street from us (we live in a little town), and oh my gosh I can always smell it and they have awesome baked goods!

That would be so dangerous. The smell of bread always makes me hungry. We have a bakery 5 minute drive away that makes the best croissants. I really should try their other stuff but croissants are my weakness.

I wish! I would love to have a local bakery for fresh bread/rolls to have with dinner. Especially now that it's getting warm and we are starting to grill hamburgers!

There is a local bread bakery that bakes all their bread and it's lovely! It's about half a mile away. Also just a block from there is a bakery but I've never been there!

We have 2 cupcake places nearby, one on my block, and another 3 blocks down. However, I live next to a pizzeria, so the smell of pizza dough wafting into my open windows during the summer is sooo enticing!

Under 3 minutes' stroll from our apartment building. It's perfect.

I have a Paris Baguette about 5 minutes away from me... it's dangerous!

One just opened less than half a mile away. I haven't gone in. We also live a few blocks from Dove and Mars factories and some days when the wind is right you can smell chocolate in the air--it smells like brownies baking. Glad it's not every day, I'd get tired of it!

Yes. We buy fresh buns for sandwiches about every 2/3 days. Love it. I also find it very convenient to get a box of fresh sweets to bring over friends houses. Perfect excuse to pig out!

I used to live near an amazing little bakery owned by a French couple and it was DANGEROUS haha! They have the most amazing fruit tarts and pimento cheese sandwiches on baguettes. I need to make the trek across town to go eat there soon!

There's a really good one about 4 miles away. They made both of DD's birthday cakes for me!

There is one about a mile away. My aunt actually owns one in my hometown. My brother is thinking of buying it. Yum!

I live near a panderia. I pick up rolls and French bread occasionally. I like to grab conch cookies or ginger pigs up too.

I live a block and a half from a deli with baked goods and walking distance from a cake bakery.

There is a cupcake shop 2 doors down!! We've been really good about only going on special occasions, but it is so hard!

@HabesBabe: what are your fave items from Paris Baguette? I go there semi-regularly. I just discovered their House Iced Coffee... Yumm. My sis just recommended that I try their Milk Soufflé... and on Easter, we brought their blueberry chiffon cake to a party, and it was a hit! I'm always up for trying anything there, so if you have recs, please let me know!
To answer the question, we have a ton of bakeries nearby... several within walking distance... still not good for my waistline!

My mom and sis have a kitchen they bake out of in my house. I love being the official taste tester. My house smells delicious most days!
