DD (23 months) has been habitually biting her nails to the quick. I read that most toddlers go through a nail biting phase, but hers is getting worse. She has no nails left but continues to try to bite them. I don't think she even realizes she's doing it. I try to distract her by keeping her hands busy, but she'll continue to keep at least one finger in her mouth, chewing away. It seems that she does it when she's nervous and when she's tired.
The part that really concerns me is that she's now pulling on her eyelashes when I try to get her to stop chewing on her fingers.
I've read that this is a sign of anxiety, but I don't know what to do about it. Everything says to not draw attention to it, but I don't want her to make her nails bleed or pull out all her eyelashes.
Has anyone else had a LO that did this?
