Seems to differ from person to person, but mine was usually more of a sharp sudden pain on one side.

@wonderstruck: yeah, that's what Google is telling me. I wonder what this is then?

My RLP always happens when I change positions fast, mainly getting up quickly - I'll get a shocker shooting pain for a second...

Hmm, so this is a pretty constant ache... Should I call the doctor? It would have to go to the emergency answering service and I doubt it is an emergency...but my husband wants me to call.

I've had a dull ache similar to what you're describing a lot this pregnancy. (I'm 20 weeks.) I've just been assuming it's related to my c-section scar because that's exactly where it is. Interested to hear what your doctor says if you did call.

@78h2o: I've been super achey/crampy this pregnancy and notice is baby moves in a weird way or if I have a bh contraction I will have that dull ache for a while. I can't remember how many weeks you are, but you could call for peace of mind. Try to take it easy and rest.

Mine was always sharp, from a quick and hasty movement. Stops me in my tracks. Aching could just mean slow stretching. I get all kinds of achy feelings!

@78h2o: I had something similar around that time that I thought was RLP at first but my doc told me it was just baby/uterus putting pressure on the pubic bone (which makes sense for where you're describing it). She told me there's nothing to be done but it subsided after a few weeks. Then the back pain kicked in!

Even if it's not round ligament pain, it doesn't sound like anything I would worry about. There are so many random weird aches and pains when you're pregnant and they're perfectly (unfortunately) normal.

@wonderstruck: Yeah, that's kind of what I figure. It's probably stretching or something. I'm going to try to drink more water, and if it's not better tomorrow, I'd call my OB during normal business hours. I have a home Doppler and baby sounds fine, so I'm trying not to worry.

@78h2o: sounds like SPD (see link below). I wasn't formally diagnosed with LO1, but it was constant pain in my pelvis (kind of like it was going to fall out from under me). It went away as soon as I delivered and the doc said a chiropractor could help. I saw one the last 10 weeks of my pregnancy and it did help.
