Our isn't on yet, but I am thinking of lighting the pilot today because I am starting to get cold.

Finally turned it on when we got home Sunday night! It's been cold, damp and 40s. LO's room was freezing!

No. I'm trying to hold out til November. We'll see if we make it since it's supposed to snow...

Not yet - downstairs was 67 this morning and it was high 30's last night . I suspect in the next few days we will though!

Not yet. I'm hoping to hold out until November, but it depends on how chilly it gets tonight.

Not yet....hopefully not until late December or January!

Yes This whole week the high is only 40 here, and the lows are down in the 20's at night. We need the heat! although we only have ours set at 66 right now.

Yes. We are aupposed to get snow today! A very tiny amount. Probably no accumulation. But OMG snow!

Yep, it's been in the 30's at night/mornings. Bah, when I turn up the heat all I see is dollar bills floating out of my wallet!

Yes. We live in an apartment and don't control the thermostat though. It is set to 68 in the winter so if it dips below that, the heat kicks on. It's kicked on the past couple of mornings. Lows have been in the 20s/30s!

I did last Saturday bc house temp was 67 (outside was 41), but it's only kicked in that day. Hasn't turned on since then.

Turned it on last night. I was cold, and I run hotter than DH and E, so if I was cold they must be freezing. Plus it was 40-something out.

Turned it on Monday. I would have been fine but R's room felt a little chilly. Although tonight it is going down in the 40's, brr!

Nope! We don't ever turn our heater on. It doesn't usually fall under 40-50 degrees, and I like it cold!
pomelo / 5000 posts
No, although if it were just me, we would have it on in the evenings. My DH and I have different temp comfort levels.

It went on Monday evening - the house was 65F - a little too cold for me. We keep it at 68-70 in the evenings/weekends and 66 when we're at work.

Not yet, and today is really chilly at 73 degrees. ::insert sarcasm::

No, we live in a second floor, middle apartment so the ambient heat from everybody around us is usually enough. We turn the heat on maybe 3-5 days a year, and even then we have baseboard heating so we just turn it on in the living room. Might turn it on a little more this year now that we have a baby though.

No, only in Cs room. Our gas bills are insane, so we're trying to tough it out as long as we can.
persimmon / 1230 posts
Yup! We turned it on for the first time yesterday morning. The whole house was chilly, especially LO's room.

I turned the space heater on in DD's room because it gets cold in there.
honeydew / 7917 posts
Yes, we finally turned it on earlier this week. It was 59 degrees inside the house. The heat is set at 62. LO's heater in his room has been on every night for the past few weeks just to make sure it doesn't get too cold in there.
pomegranate / 3580 posts
We turned ours on at night and in the mornings starting in late September. I much prefer the heater to the AC
watermelon / 14206 posts
Nope. Its been in the 60s and I've had my windows open. I love the cool air.
honeydew / 7283 posts
Yup! The low last night was 36. I probably still would have waited because it's been warm during the day, but I worry about M getting chilly at night.

yes - here and there. we have radiators (apartment building) and can't control it so it just comes on if it goes below a certain temp I think. hasn't been too cold yet for Boston this year but I think we've hit the point it will be on most nights
