Yes! And yes this is me saying pre-kid haha! I know our home doesn't have to be perfect but I am already OCD as it is~

the house was soooooo clean before E's bday. But only because 1) the cleaning people came wedn 2) my mom was here and she is super anal about stuff
but we're having friends over for a bbq on Sat and it'll be clean but probably not spotless

@blackbird: Your party pictures looked great!

It's usually quite clean. However, DH just reminded me that we're hosting a get-together tomorrow night. However, we got home last night from an unexpected whirlwind 15 hour trip back to my hometown, and I have the feeling that a lot of things are going to slide this time

We're pretty anal about cleaning the house before having guests over, I think were actually tidier post kids

Only the parts party-goers are going to see. And spotless might be a bit of a stretch...

Yep! (Or, at least the parts of the house that guests will see)
It's usually pretty spotless before we have people over, whether it's for a party or just having friends over.

Tidy, yes (except the office, that's a cluster of papers).
Actually clean? Not so much.

Clean, yes. Spotless, no.
And this basically only applies to the downstairs. The upstairs looks like WW3.

Only if the cleaning ladies came that week. Otherwise it is tidy and clean but not spotless.

If it were up to me, tidy but not spotless... but DH is super anal about it. No one comes over if the house isn't spotless. But since it's his neurosis, he also does most of the cleaning.

@autumnlove, thank you! I'm still enjoy the mostly clean house aspect of it!

My house is never spotless, but it's generally cleaner and tidier than other people's homes I go into so I'm ok not being spotless!
@kiddosc: my husband is the same, and so also does most of the cleaning. If he wants it to look a certain way, he understands it's on him to get that done; I'm not responsible for his clean-freakishness!

No. We tidy and clean before people come over but there's no spotless in my house.

It's pretty clean! Only to have it "trashed" during the party and clean up is even worse!!

It's tidy but I schedule the cleaning people to come AFTER the party.

I always say no, no need, everyone knows we have kids and can't make things spotless. Then of course the night before Wagon Sr. and I go crazy and stay up late cleaning the house top to bottom.
