So far we haven't had any classes with any kids with the same name as our kids... but at the local playground, I've learned that there are a bunch of kids (and dogs!) with the same names.

Nope, haven't met another little one with the same name yet. It will happen though since it's not that unique.

I don't know anyone IRL with DS's name and it's a pretty common name.

DDs name is pretty popular online (and rising in the charts) but I don't know anyone in our area with her name

I'd never met anyone with LO's name, but there is an older boy at his daycare in a different class, and another older boy at the park with his name

i know a little boy with R's name who lives near us, but haven't met any others locally!

We have been at the playground and I've heard other parents calling LO's name. But no one at her school has the same name. I do have a very good friend whose daughter has the same name but we live far apart and I think it's really fun that they share a name. I have someone to pass on the monogrammed hand me downs to

Never seen another Effie under the age of 90 or so. Except one who uses the same hashtag on instagram, but we haven't met her!

DS and DD aren't attending school yet, but we choose their names because they weren't that common. But, we found out that there is another little boy at our Church who has the same name as DS and born the same year, but a couple months younger. I was bummed about that since I purposely chose his name thinking no one else would. I have yet to meet someone with DD's name.

Not yet but his name is pretty classic so I expect to hear it more once he starts school!

There's an older girl at my daughter's daycare with the same name, but they are in different classes. But I definitely hear it sometimes on the playground!
Once a hipster couple heard me calling my Maya and asked how I spell it. I said, "Just the regular way---M-A-Y-A." And they were like, "Oh, our daughter is Mya. We wanted something fresh and not like all the others". Um...thanks?
grrrrr.

No never!
But DD2's name is probably more likely to be heard at an old folks home or a Red Hat Society meeting than at a playground!

@Anagram: Ha. I love people.
There aren't any others at his daycare that I know of, but my bosses niece has the same name (its a unisex name)

Nope. I often find moms with her name, though.

I'm pretty sure DD will never encounter another by her name. I know a few people with children the same as DS. Their all a either a little older or younger, so hopefully there won't be too many (or any!) in his same class.

I met one girl with the same name at the children's museum, but that's it. She's not in school or daycare but we meet lots of kids on the playground and at the museum.
I also have two former coworkers with older kids with her name, which I already knew when we chose it (like 5 and 8 year olds).
However a bunch of people have told me that they were considering the name for their LOs so I imagine I will eventually start hearing it more.

Where we live, there is one other little boy at the playground with the same spelling but different pronunciation of my DS's name (for those who know his name, these people pronounce the "s" at the end). In France, my son's name is hugely popular, you hear it EVERYWHERE. In the US, it's not very popular.
For DD, the pronunciation of her name is hugely popular in the US, but we chose the alternate spelling. Where we currently live, it's considered a middle age lady's name. In France, it's in the top 50, but I don't know any other kids with her name.

We've never had anyone in DD's class, or at the playground, with her name. The preschool director though has a 9yo daughter with the same name.
DS's name is pretty classic and common so I'm sure we'll run into more. Although I don't think I've seen his name at all in DD's classes either.

Rarely, which is kinda weird since their names aren't super unique.

Nope. So far haven't met one yet, though my mil is a teacher and had one the year DS was born.
@kjpugs: There's a fairly popular "fashion" blogger who has an Effie, but it's the only other one I've ever seen at all (other than hunger games, of course).

I think there's another little girl at church with the same name, but they aren't in the same age group.
