Nope. Not at all. He's really good at the finances though. But he's definitely not a handyman.

Yes and it's wonderful! My dad was not handy at all so this whole concept of being able to fix things ourselves is amazing!

Very handy! He does everything himself. He and his dad just built a patio cover in our backyard. Unfortunately he works a lot so it takes some time for him to get around to projects.

Yes. It's weird for me because the men in my life growing up (dad and brother) aren't handy. So when something breaks, my first reaction is call someone to fix it. DH's first reaction is to go to home depot to get the stuff to fix it.

A little too handy.
A tree in the front yard just got chopped to shreds.

Yo u girls with handy men are so very lucky. My guy's not handy at all. But he's so many other things so I don't complain too much!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: oh my gah! that is his next project. i can't wait for him to stop talking about it!!!!!!

Yes, he's taking tomorrow off to finish his deck refinishing project!

Mine is very handy. He finished our basement on his own, and we're almost always working on a project together. He also friggin loves tools.

@autumnlove: Dh learns everything on YouTube too. I wouldn't say he's naturally handy but he's all about learning.

Yes, he is very handy. I am so thankful we have been able to do so many renovations around the house because of his handiness!
papaya / 10570 posts
Yes he's very handy. It is a real bonus, he can do most things around the house.
persimmon / 1165 posts
Yep. He's a plumber by trade and has a lot of experience working with his hands behind just for plumbing. It's definity helped save on home improvement repairs!
honeydew / 7667 posts
Very. He finished the basement in the last house and maintains his own tractors, truck, etc.
coconut / 8279 posts
Not at all but he does do the dishes and vacuum. And he takes care of the pets completely.
But sadly, he can't even put together Ikea stuff.
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
No not at all. I have to fix most of the stuff. He used to be a plumber and always tells me a plumber doesn't fix their own house. Well great...
grapefruit / 4066 posts
no! i put together all the baby furniture, painted the room, etc. he is good at other things though like our finances.
pomegranate / 3521 posts
Yes-very. I am really handy as well. We handle most projects ourselves. We also have close friends and family in almost all of the trades.. so if we get stuck/don't have the time or know how, we have someone we trust doing the work.

My DH is the least handiest man ever. I'll give him credit when he does try.
I'm the one who puts furniture together, he's the muscle man. It would take him forever to put things together.
nectarine / 2433 posts
Super handy with all home repairs/improvements and maintains his cars. I consider myself pretty handy too.
honeydew / 7091 posts
Yes, and it is half amazing/half a pain in my butt. He is ALWAYS doing projects with his dad. It's great that we don't have to pay someone, but my goodness it'd also be great to spend some time with him!
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@autumnlove: haha. I think DH had used YouTube a few times, too!
nectarine / 2690 posts
Yes he is Last year he built a cabana w/ a bar in our back yard. He also landscaped the entire back yard and is finishing the front as well.
watermelon / 14467 posts
We're both fairly handy. There's things he won't tackle though, like electrical work.

@rachiecakes: OMG, DH cannot put together furniture either! i have a desk with a backwards front and a TV stand that he used the wrong screws to put the top on with so they came through the top- you'd think when it happened once he'd stop and fix it so the others didn't, but no, all 4 screws tore through the top of it!
DH is a beautiful soul- but he couldn't build a patio to save his life!

Not at all but he thinks he is. His father is very handy and he thinks he is too since he's watched his father fix and build things his whole life. I think it's the same affliction that makes you think you can do something if you've watched enough YouTube videos.
