I get irrationally angry when I get up with LO in MOTN and DH is up playing video games. Straight up ragey. He can't really help with MOTN wakings anyway since DS will just scream till he gets me but I hate hearing DH bitch that he's tired the next day. He was sooo tired today. So go the f to bed. Nobody is stopping YOU.

We have this exact same issue. It's not video games anymore, right now it is crosswords with his mum, lol. I get sooo mad in tripe morning when he doesn't appear until gone 10am and complains he is tired

Yes! Don't freaking complain that you are tired of you were up playing video games! Im with you.
Also when the baby has just eaten an hour ago and I'm really sick and need some rest so I ask him to try to soothe her before j go straight to feeding her- that means you might have to walk and stand up. He just picks her up and brings her back to bed and pats her back- the she cries right next to me in bed so I may as well just feed her now, sick be damned.

@travelgirl1: That second part would make me rage the most. DH is still in bed now at 9am because he worked really hard yesterday decorating the nursery, building furniture etc and he was only up later than me because he was loading the dishwasher - but I'm still watching the clock and tutting.

@Corduroy: ugh yes! My DH complained about being so tired this morning at 7:45 am when our toddler woke up (he's in charge of the toddler and I'm in charge of the newborn since I'm breastfeeding). Made me want to punch him. 1. I would have killed for a 7:45 am wake up a year ago when I was also handling the toddler, and 2. I'd been up and down all night feeding LO2 and he was complaining about 7:45.

@Cherrybee: it drives me bonkers. Especially living with my inlaws now, because DH hasn't been feeling well this last week, his mum is convinced he is exhausted and worn out and not getting enough sleep. Lol. No. He is getting plenty of sleep, just at the wrong time of day

I would be so ragey!!!! My Dh stays up late playing video games but I make him take the baby monitor and do feedings if Ds wakes! I don't even care that he complains he's tired the next day!

@Corduroy: my DH wasn't allowed to say he was tired for months. He got to sleep through the night while I didn't. I don't care how tired you think you are, you're not!!!

@ShootingStar: I've tried that many many times. Neither of us can get DS back to sleep with my boobs so it isn't an option. He does deal with LO1 on the rare occasion that she gets up but he can't hear the kids over the games so I have to get up and tell him to deal with her.I'm looking forward to re-sleep training LO2 when the winter illnesses let up.
DH does help in the early morning when the baby decides he's up for the day super early but that sets the day up for bitching about being tired

@Corduroy: if you're still in the nursing to sleep stage is make DH get the baby and bring him to you. And possibly put him back down too if he could do it without waking him up. It was always so much harder for me to fall back asleep if I had been moving around too much.

Oh my gosh that would piss me off so much that I'd never even fall back asleep myself. I get stabby when DH wakes me up to tell me one of them is crying....you hear her first, you take care of it!

I would go crazy too! I used to get so mad when DH is like oh man so tired, she woke up so many times last night. I'd be like yeah, maybe you woke up enough to acknowledge what was happening and went right back to sleep! I was the one actually up with her either nursing/rocking!

@Corduroy: our cheapie monitor has lights that go from green to red if sound is detected. It works really well for when I'm exercising and have headphones in! Maybe something like that would help?

@snowjewelz: The same thing happens with my DH. He says that even though I'm the one getting up with DS he still doesn't get good sleep because he wakes up every time I get out of the bed. So supposedly he is just as tired as I am. So irritating!

Yeah, I'd be super annoyed. Honestly, more about the complaining than the actual behavior. I still do most of the MOTN wake ups because it's easier for me and I don't mind it too much. But I totally hand him off to my husband if he's not going back to bed after eating. And my husband does all the early mornings when our son is fed and just awake at 6.
My husband has been staying up late doing a lot of research for his work lately but he does a good job of not complaining too much. Yesterday we were both tired, so I watched the baby in the morning while he napped and he watched him in the afternoon while I napped! It was awesome! Maybe naps would help for both of you?

We aren't gamers, but my DH often will binge watch Netflix shows & stay up too late or just not sleep well & I get so irritated to hear him complain about how tired he is, so in your situation I would be totally ragey!! Our LO won't usually go (back) down for DH without a lot of crying. So, for everyone's sanity I've been doing all the wake ups unless it's the weekend or vacation & then DH will get up w/ LO when she's up early & he'll let me go back to bed. That has been glorious & keeps me from getting too mad at hubby. I hope you can get some help out of him somehow.
