When did your LO# 1 show the most signs of jealousy with the new baby? Was it right away at the first introduction or during feeding/nursing?

It's interesting, when I worked at a day care, most siblings got jealous well before baby came. Just general acting out, being fussier, reverting with some things. I think they know something is up well before baby is there.

Good question, I am definitely worried about this. DD totally seems like she is going to be the jealous type. She hasn't been acting out yet. But lately she has been saying that she wants a little sister so I think she has picked this up from our conversations.

I don't have kids of my own yet, but I was actually talking to my mom about this subject. My brother and I are only 16 months apart, with him being older. She said that when I was born, he was totally fine with her nursing me and spending time with me, but he was SUPER jealous whenever our dad held me!!! He apparently figured "Okay, that baby can have Mom, but NOT Dad!"

My LO hasn't shown any jealousy until today! We had a playdate and I was holding my friend's 18 month old.. She didn't have a cow, but she whined and did her sign for hugs and wanted to come to me. (my friend was holding her).
